Damn, that was a pretty good bet.

Do you have any tips on what to look for when picking horses? I've never gambled on that sport before.

Honestly, not too many

There are some pretty good beginner books out that can teach you the ropes. There are a million different things that you look at. It can be information overload pretty quickly.

I have a relatively solid method for picking longshot closers in races of 1-1/16th or longer distance, but it's way too much crap to get into on here, lol.

Thing is, I initially thought I had lost it. The 1 horse was creeping up on the 11 and I thought I got edged out for 3rd. But they showed the photo finish and the 11 edged it.

From the lowest of lows to the highest of highs.

Then I realized how close that 12 was to getting up for the win and started thinking about how much more money it would have been

I have a very contrarian method of betting sports. In that, I bet very few favorites. Less for road favorites, and almost never a double digit road favorite. A lot of my picks are against the popular public opinion.

I'm not ever laying 42 points, regardless of who it is. That backdoor cover gets there way too often. So for me Michigan is out.

LSU is a big public play this week.

Gun to my head, I take Oklahoma, but I'd rather have them at the -10 that they opened at.

I like Texas and the points against ND.

-42 is too steep, even for Michigan.. Not a high powered offense to put up a bunch of points even if the defense gets a shutout. Not built for quick scores

Lsu, I'm not sure about them, especially up north in Wisconsin.. -10 is huge in what should be a close, low scoring game.. I don't think they can cover

Totally agree about Oklahoma,,, like them a lot better at -10


I think ND beats and covers vs Texas... My season prediction is that Charlie strong is fired after this season, possibly mid season

Louisville whooped Charlotte last night 70-14... those boys are not kidding around though.

Yeah I know. But I just don't want the sweat. Louisville easily covered, but too many times I've seen starters get pulled and some team get a 25 yard TD pass with no time left to cover the +46 or whatever
