When my olders son was 12 I started to train him in boxing. He was picking it up pretty good and I was amaze with his balance. He realized that he was getting skilled on it and started to do road work on his own which suprised me because he is on the lazy side.

Once I connected his XBox to the internet it was over since then. He don't hang out with his friends even after school. The mother went and brought him an I Phone last year and even less he leaves the house.

The problem is that if you take those devices away he will be isolated from his age group because they are all on it. I limit his palying time and make him do some other activities but can't force him if he don't want to do it.

He might be safe at home but I rather him learn life by interacting.

As soon as kids get hold of the latest console that's the end of real social interaction with friends. They get so absorbed into the games they forget about the real world. It's a false reality.

Technology has good and bad points, but there is defiantly some fairly bad points about the way in people interact today.

Children aren't interested in pursuing hobbies now. They would rather level up on their game instead.

Maybe I'm getting old or whatever.

"In the Dominican Republic, life is lived much more outside. When I came home from work, my friends would be drinking outside on my block, and we’d play basketball in the street. Here, life is lived much more inside. I go from my work to my apartment. I feel like I’m in a cage."
            “So why are you here?”
“My American Dream? I want to make a Spanish language film.”

I don't know where you live, but in my neighborhood kids all around drive on bikes and play outside. It's all a matter of environment (and safety of course).

I like it to tell you the truth, no annoying children running around making all this noise they are just fat lazy slobs who stay indoors now.
