Yes but there are alternative explanations for those experiences, ones that are rooted in the neurosciences or psychiatry that have a theoretical or empirical basis.

If you're looking at this phenomenon from a dispassionate, genuinely curious standpoint then the rational course of action is to place more weight in the theories that have a body of evidence behind them. As opposed to purely speculative theories that have absolutely no evidence to support them at all.

You don't have to accept those theories, but you are not being honest in your evaluation of the situation if you choose theories that have dramatically less evidence at the root of their claims, such as theories that argue for 'life after death'.

Life after death can be a very appealing concept, for lots of reasons. That naturally produces a confirmation bias in our assessments of the evidence that leads us to look for incidents that might confirm its existence. Bias of that nature is built into all of us, it's not easy to guard against it but it's important that we do.

I understand this. I'm not religious and I'm not sure what to believe regarding this matter 'afterlife'. I just wouldn't be completely dismissive of the thought that it's not all over when we go away eventually. And as I said earlier, I do believe in fate, call me naive, but that's how I feel about my own life.

Not sure, I'd say I'm 60% thinking once you're dead it's lights out forever, the rest could be something else heaven, hell or a new life maybe trillions of years from now in some other universe, galaxy or whatever.
TBH I can't shake this possibly paranoid fear of when I die I'll be spending eternity in hell, as if oblivion isn't scary enough.
