Do you pay anyways because you’re a man, don’t care, and it removes the obligation to see her again?

or do you allow her to pay because she wants to go there and see you?

another advantage to you paying if her pick isn’t to your liking, you can b1tch about how much the food ****** without coming across as rude
Usually I would go half with the girl or agree on that (first date from dating site or app). If a girl insisted that I buy her meal, date is off.

Cool but you never let us know if:

        - She's sexy enough to require fine dining
        -or-
        - So lame she only qualifies for JollyBee or the Balut cart down the block.

That has a lot to do with our advice & your decision.

          Wise strategy my friend.
I relegated all 1st dates to coffee or cheap happy hour drinks after I found out that a lot of women abuse dating apps by lining up 1st dates as a mealticket when cash strapped and have no intention of a 2nd date unless food is involved. That's why those apps have a complaint dept. & an option to flag/block members that catfish (or meal grifters).

I do the Starbucks thing too. Had a few pull the "I forgot to bring my money" crap on me.

Women and money... this could go on forever with no answer except women are always looking to lighten a mans wallet when they can. Some women are just more clever and you don't realize it at first.

Too few variables known. Is she fookable? Single or married? Do I wanna fook her? How do I know her for her to be wanting to eat with me or me wanting to eat with her, homie, co-worker, random person?

All being equal & unknown fookable or wanting to fook situation or if I even know this person to wanna eat with them for some reason I think I just say I'm tight on money this week & I wait for an offer by her to pay or else I just walk.

If she invited me, lets say started the convo herself at the grocery store and asked me out, we're splitting and there is no scenario where I'd fund the entire date under these circumstances whether it be for a coffee or a 200 dollar dinner.

There are alot of hidden benefits to feminism for us if you think about it.
