Wormholes and warping space, although science fiction, are currently the only ideas of getting around that - but currently physicists think you’d need to harness the energy output of (at the very minimum) our entire sun. Side note: check out a Dyson sphere, it’s a terrifying idea and scientists actually look for evidence of them across the stars as they’d be a clear sign of intelligent life.
Ive heard of the dyson sphere... they think that certain pulsations from stars could be such a thing.
It is true... conventional speed as we understand it goes up to light speed, and we can't go faster cause we would be going backwards. We have got to mov into the next stage of technologies... warping time space and stepping across lol.

Space is highly fascinating. I agree, Kev. Surreal is an excellent word for it.

I think that, and I have no evidence to back this claim, we have not been visited by aliens in manned spacecrafts yet. But I do 100% believe, and find it very realistic that we have been visited by some kinds of highly advanced space probes sent by another alien civilization. These space probes are unmanned and are remote controlled from a distance of several light years away, from our neighboring star systems. Just look at us and the way we learn about nearby planets and moons. We send probes out. Sending probes, robots/rovers is likely going to be the best method of deep space exploration for centuries to come.

NASA and other private multi billion dollar companies will keep refining the probes/space crafts and making them last longer, go further, take more data, have clearer visuals, have a more economical type of fuel, and even go faster. Up to the point where the technology advancements finally puts us at a point where we can probe other star systems.

It is amazing to imagine where an alien civilization needs to be technologically, to send unmanned, remote controlled spacecrafts to other star systems. Let alone little green men flying in a spacecraft, alone, for thousands of years, without dying and even if they die, have no way to continue the mission. I can’t imagine spaceships coming to Earth 1 alien at a time. If the US attacks and confiscates an alien spacecraft, it will likely have a decent amount of aliens in the ship. With the aliens in it being very important and experts of their field.

And then to top it off, I would imagine a highly advanced understanding of cryopreservation is needed. The advanced way of consuming nutrients, if these beings need to eat.

How about the technology needed to remote control the unmanned spacecraft? Or the advanced technology needed to send manned spacecrafts?

How about speed? Have they figured out how to travel at a fraction of the speed of light? Or have they found out how to safely travel at the speed of light? What type of detection technology do they have to not collide with an object while going at the speed of light?

Lastly, if this civilization has all of that, how advanced could they be? How much more 1,000s or millions or billions of years would they have on us? Are we like primitive cavemen to them?

So many things come into play when discussing aliens visiting us.
Since we learned to love the bomb (dr strange glove lol) vis a vis since we learned to split the atom we have had many incidents of visitation... coincidence? it would make sense, and there is correlation to suggest whatever is out there kind of learned "those damn kids are playing with matches... where did they find them? better keep an eye on them." I say correlation because there is no hard proof. Nobody has things that are irrefutable but I think there has been proof. Thats another discussion though. There seems to be people who decide what we can know, and what we cannot know because it is too much. again, correlation and not hard proof...

Any travellors in space have technologies that can function outside the parameters of speed as acceleration between large objects. There just is no way moving at the speed of light gets any group very far...

You're right. And it's pretty mind bending to think about. I think you could go around the earth something like 7 times in a single second if you could travel the speed of light. Yet, the distances are so incredibly vast in space that even at such a speed -- you would still be moving at a snail's pace out there.

Yet look at the relative distances between sub atomic particles... and how something happening to one particle will affect a particle a distance away... by comparison? the distances are proportional. So when one electron causing another a few atoms away to change course... it is the same scale as me typing here, and some event being effected on like a planet thousands of light years away! Its just that we have not understood things well enough yet. when we do these so called great distances will seem small indeed.

So... in a few generations, or so, when cars are going 800 miles an hour people will laugh about how if you lived in Chicago you could not have a job in Las Angeles. think back to before the interstates... how it must have been to travel from chicago to new york... you had no idea where filling stations were.... your car got about 10 miles to the gallon on average.. give, or take... No app to tell you where to fill up and stations were not 24/7... no credit cards btw... and all local roads that might show up on a map... and good luck if you broke down... actually you probably would break down once or so lol. Its all relative isn't it?

I am just hypothetically speaking as far as traveling at the speed of light.

I don't even think we could ever travel at the speed of light, or a fraction of it, safely. Like how the hell would the human body react to that even if the person is safely inside of a spaceship?

But I think that this is something an unmanned spacecraft can possibly do, if there is any way that is, that the spacecraft can withstand such speeds anyway.
