All the non mobile QB’s would be out of the league. Imagine Brady having to run away from LT or Reggie White etc etc.
    His MVP season -
    Stats:
    13-2 record, 66.1% completion rate (8th), 3,127 passing yards (22nd), 36:6 TD-to-INT ratio (1st), 113.3 passer rating (3rd), 83 QBR (1st), 1,206 rushing yards, 7 rushing TDs, 6.9 yards per carry.
Other mobile quarterbacks have thrived in today's NFL -- see Newton above. What Jackson achieved in 2019 was on another level altogether, prompting voters to make him the second unanimous choice for MVP in the history of the award, along with Brady in 2010 (again, see above). In his first full season as the Ravens' starter, Jackson set the single-season record for rushing yards by a quarterback. But it’s not like Jackson's legs are his only claim to fame -- he also made dazzling plays with his arm in coordinator Greg Roman's offense, improving his accuracy by nearly eight percentage points (jumping from the 58.2% he posted after replacing Joe Flacco midway through 2018) and pacing the NFL in touchdown throws despite playing for a team that did not have a single wide receiver break the 800-yard threshold. Jackson also took excellent care of the football, logging just six picks on 401 attempts. The next step for him will be to win his first playoff game after going 0-2 in the postseason thus far.

    bold is impressive.

I feel they are making more of his MVP season due to his running.
    A soft schedule didn't hurt (20th)

His following years weren't so great. Mediocre to put it mildly.

    Mobile doesn't mean sack/injury proof.
He's been sacked over 100 times in his young career. Not sure how that stacks up with other mobile QBs with 62 played.
His TD's have been declining 10 per year
    His comp % is shabby
He just isn't consistent enough imho.
1 really good year and has been on the downturn since.

He does take care of the ball, though, and he is only 25 so there is time.

Yes, the NFL, as most sports, has change exponentially from then to now.
Lamar operates under the same rules as all the other QBs.
Most HOF QBs are slow AF.
I wouldn't say Brady is any slower/less mobile than them. On par with Marino and Fouts at least.

Lamar Jackson through 4 games is top 3 MVP front runners.

Its early but it is what it is. Not alot of guys playing better right now.

              21st in yds
              15th in comp %
              3rd in QBR
              4th in RTG
              Tied 1st TDs

You're right. It's early and no one is really standing out., When Geno Smith is 3rd in RTG, you know the season is off to a slow start.
Let's say, as with Newton and RG3 before him, Lamar is no longer a running threat....just how valuable do you think he will be ?
