as danny stash had said, get a second, and a third, and a fourth opinion.

this is how it works - not all doctors know an equal amount. some doctors know more than others. some doctors(ones who suck) will only go by what the book says and are not intuitive enough.

find a few different doctors who specialize in the sports field. and make sure that you don't keep going until you find one that wants to tell you what you want to hear. make sure that you trust the doc and he is competent in doing what he does. i have seen many doctors who treat what they do as a simple job - without really giving a **** about what they could do for you. and also do your own research.

In order to be an athlete you have to have the right sort of body. Athletes are born they are not made. If you have the right genes your body will tend to build up under stress, if you don't, it will tend to break down. That is just the way it is.
bull****. i bet your are not even an athlete. you sure as hell do not sound like one. if you are, you are extremely uneducated and for sure would noit be a top level athlete. and i can say this because i am and have been an athlete and am a trained fighter.

yeah but thats a big risk..what would you rather take, about 3 months of resting from boxing and be back in it once its fully healed..or be out of boxing for good?

update : seen the Physio today, and she said my external rotator cuffs were very weak. she said that certain muscles in my shoulders were over working resulting in the instability in the shoulder.

she pressed some pressure point near my pecks/arm pit and strapped my up for a few days. she said my posture was bad(because of boxing stance). she suggested that i could have acupuncture in the muscle to release it but its painful.

she gave me this resistance band to do my simple exercises. not exactly like the picture but if you hold the band with the elbows tucked by your side, then do the movement. [see below]

I wonder if a doctor would know if taking a drug that increases collagen synthesis would help you out, just a thought. some steroids tighten tendons and increase collagen synthesis and doctors do prescribe steroids for serious shoulder problems.

oh rite, ill have to ask the physio, she seems to know her **** more than the DR. she said after lots of exercise building muscle the shoulder should stabilize.

she'll most likely be against drugs that speed up collagen synthesis cause she's a physio and she'll probably want u to take the long road to recovery. personally the only reason i'd take steroids would be for a serious injury that would prevent me from boxing for a long time
