Would Andre Ward have had a similar / same KO% as GGG if he fought same opposition?

When has Ward really KNOCKED OUT an opponent? I'm not referring to a controversial TKO stoppage. An ACTUAL KO! Like how Golovkin knocked Ishida out of the ring for the 10 count, whist putting him into an unconscious state. Or how Golovkin scored a proper body shot knockout over Matthew Macklin and broke his body with that punch. Has Andre Ward ever knocked out anybody like that?

1) Ishida? Macklin? Footage of Ward fighting such a low level of opposition is rare, it may not even exist on the internet, the last time he fought guys that level were in his early 20's.


2) Murray? The guy that couldn't even beat a 35 year old Abraham? Brook a blown up welter? ggg couldn't even KO Jacobs or Canelo.

Dawson, Kovalev, both men never stopped, stopped by Ward. These guys are infinitely better than these men.

3) Brand drew with LHW Champion and hard hitter Badou Jack, also picked up a win over previously undefeated hard hitting Beketmirov. His resume is arguably better than Jacobs. Jacobs has never beaten or drawn with anybody as good as Beketmirov or Jack.

Ward would have a near 100% KO ratio fighting ggg's caliber of opposition. Now tell me how Rios & Mora hit harder than Ward lmao.

Ward's KO ratio is even greater than Fonfara, the only man to stop iron chin-Chavez. There are numerous fighters which hit harder than ggg, Canelo fought him when he was drained, after getting stopped by Fonfara and even he couldn't hurt Chavez.

That's essentially arguing that Andre Ward's power is at the same level or close to the level of Golovkin's.

However, here is a challenge for those who believe Ward really would have had the same / similar KO percentage if he fought Golovkin's opposition which Golovkin stopped:

1) Find any opponent which Andre Ward KNOCKED OUT like how Golovkin knocked out Nobuhiro Ishida or Matthew Macklin. As in, proper, legal, concussive and / or body breaking knockout.

2) Find any top opponents which were previously never knocked out or previously unbeaten, which Andre Ward stopped. Like how Golovkin stopped Martin Murray and Kell Brook.


Also, Andre Ward has already faced many similar caliber of opposition as Golovkin which he couldn't stop, but Golovkin managed to. Golovkin stopped Martin Murray and Kell Brook. Andre Ward failed to stop Alexander Brand. There's nothing to suggest that Alexander Brand is a high caliber of boxer than either Martin Murray or Kell Brook. Yet, Ward failed to stop Brand. Whilst Golovkin is the only ever boxer to drop Martin Murray multiple times and stop him. That is whilst taking into consderation that Martin Murray has went up to 168 pounds and still couldn't be stopped by some top fighters there like George Groves.

Andre Ward fought Paul Smith, a domestic mw belter and super middle journeyman at 170 lb or something and did not knock him down once.

So what do you think he'd do against natural middleweights if he himself was mw?

It would be certainly be a lot closer anyway if Ward had fought a bunch of Ishida/Adama/Stevens etc types.

But it wouldn't be higher than GGG's, at least I suspect based on his fighting style on punching power (p4p).

How do you know GG hits harder? They fight in two different division. One guy fought top comp from the start and the other fought top comp late in his career. Wards resume takes an absolute **** on GG's so it's harder for Ward to get the ko against his comp than GG against his.

The fight was stopped on a low blow. That's all that matters! The previous punches didn't drop Kovalev. Nor was the fight stopped due to those other previous legal punches. Fact of the matter is, the fight was stopped on an illegal blow. Therefore, that stoppage (maybe not the victory itself) was illegitimate.

One was low & kovalev landed a coulpe low ones himself. Toney Weeks saved kovalev from the embarrassment. Should of let Ward put a mortal combat on his a*s to "Finish Him."
