I thought I could make one recently, but he turned out to be an MMA casual. He was all "Conor is a beast! Look at how he takes out Alvarez!" and showed me a ****ty video. I said I'd show him a true knockout, and found a vid of Roy knocking out Glen Kelly.

He called Roy "Mayweather" as he tried to explain the physics of the KO. At first I thought it was a slip of the tongue, but he kept calling him Mayweather. I immediately changed the subject, and each time he tried to bring May-Mac up, I would talk about something else.

I've resigned myself to talking about boxing with strangers on the internet forever.
Lol that's tough, I've met people who would have me thiking they know boxing but them say **** about the same people, tyson, ali, and pac and floyd. Don't know **** about any other fighters

Yea I meet alot of heads like that at work. Followed the game hard in the 70s and 80s but lost interest.

My brother's good to talk to about boxing. He knows a great deal about it. However, he rarely watches any new fights and feels the modern era sucks all the way around.

        And that's it.

As a boxing fan, you're alone in this world.

That moment when the joke suddenly becomes reality.

Your method of changing the subject is best.

A few friends texted me when May-Pac went down. They didn't holler at me again until May-Mac. It's pretty lame but it is what it is.

I've been getting back into the NBA this past year. I do enjoy watching it.

But yeah. I have zero friends who follow boxing.

I even used to work with a guy and we'd talk boxing sometimes but I haven't seen him in a while and last year, I messaged him on FB and asked him who he thought would win between Kovalev and Ward. he'd never heard of either of them. Ha. So yes. It's a lonely sport to follow.
