[POLL] Who Has Faced The Softest Competition Overall?

I don't think Kovalev's resume is that great neither, maybe slightly better than Golovkins but still, Pascal sucks and Hopkins was 50 years of age.
Ward's is the best but he's also been badly inactive for a long while and has yet to fight anyone to prove he's still at that level.
These are the guys at the top of the sport with the outing of Floyd and Manny? I think Wlad #1 perhaps(I don't have a clue how good Chocolatito's resume is), Cotto #2 leapt to middleweight and handed Martinez' his ass, now fighting Canelo Alvarez and I do think he'll take on Golovkin, Pacquiao #3 since he's coming off a loss but probably has the most recent p4p'er win on his resume, Gonzalez #4 because he looks like a beast but I don't know sht else about'em , Kovalev #4 because best performance to tier ratio, Danny Garcia #5 solid resume, but close calls drop him, Saul Alvarez #6 good fighter, decent wins with Lara and Trout(although I don't think much of Trout, he beat Cotto), Golovkin #7 having a very busy run beating decent opposition easier than most, Crawford #8, having beat a talent like Gamboa(regardless of size advantage) and other decent fighters, Rigondeaux #9 has not fought that long ago and he did beat a top 5 p4p, it was a huge win, Keith Thurman #10 having stopped Chaves who has given everyone a run for their money and Diaz who gave Porter & Khan just a bout all they could handle.Last edited by SplitSecond; 10-29-2015, 01:05 PM.

As of the past couple of years it would be Kovalev, GGG, and then Ward. But as of their entire careers Ward would probably edge Kovalev but not by as much as people think or say. I say if Ward doesn't secure and win a meaningful fight to prove that he's still got it than in a year than I think Kovalev and GGG will have passed his resume up if they continue to win against respectable competition. If you really look at it Ward's resume isn't as legendary as people like to think. As of the past I think two years Andre Ward has fought the "literal" definition of journeymen and we can speculate all we want but there is no way of knowing whether Andre Ward still has it until he fights someone "decent" say a DeGale, Jack, Ramirez or Dirrell. I personally think Ward is still the top dog at 168 but he has slipped a little watching his last match against Smith and I think that's partially due to ring rust but then again no one truly knows until he gets in with someone good enough that we can more less gauge where he is at.

Based on your posts in this thread, it is fair to say that what you're saying in the OP is that GGG should not be ranked P4P. It is not off topic for me to respond to the original post of this thread with why I believe your definition of what makes a fighter worthy of being ranked P4P is off. So that being said, I'd say GGG and Kovalev should be in the top 10 P4P based on their resumes (emphasis on recent fight record) and Ward should not be (or should be towards the bottom at best).
In regards to the poll - I'd say it's Kovalev, GGG then Ward in ascending order of strength of overall resume.
We're talking about prime undefeated fighters here.
How do you put GGG above Kovalev in terms of resume?

I put GGG higher than Kov probably because I think Kovalev's overall resume is overrated.
On a related note, I just opened up Kovalev's BoxRec page and it shows a fight scheduled with Pascal in Montreal on January 30th? Was this announced because this is the first I'm seeing of this?

Since this is obviously a pathetic attempt to troll GGG fans, who never denied the strength of Ward's resume, let's see if I can repay the favor.
Best names on Ward's Resume are:
Kessler (#1 SMW)
Abraham (#8 SMW)
Froch (#3 SMW)
Dawson (#1 LHW).. drained 7 lbs, bleh.
Golovkin has:
Andy Lee
Andre Dirrell
Lucian Bute
Macklin (#6 MW)
Lemieux (#4 MW)
Murray (#9 MW)
Geale (#2 MW)
And I'm sure you're gonna say that those rankings don't mean crap (even though they're all from Ring mag), but do keep in mind, for comparison purposes, that Abraham (#8 on Ward's resume) is currently being challenged by Murray (#9 on GGG's resume)
:-)
TROLL ON!
