golovkin's insistence on 160 is his way of declining a fight with canelo. we can play this game all day. the fight does not have to be EXACTLY 160, that's BS. golovkin can drop to 155 just fine and beat canelo, so why all the fuss. this fight not happening doesn't hurt canelo one bit. it hurts cotto even less since he's already HOF status.

He's right about the correlation between success and criticism, there's just escaping it.

But with Canelo's recent sentiments about GGG and a catchweight, I'd say the criticism is well deserved.

Canelo is acting like a ***** ... can't play the Mexican warrior card if he drops a belt to hide from someone he's the same size as.

I agree. GGG can drop to 155, and he will soundly beat Canelo at that or any other weight. In fact, I'm hoping that eventually GGG gets to fight Canelo at 154 pounds (obviously not a middleweight title fight) and put a beating on him at that weight too.

Its easy to say but its not easy to deal with. Behind the scenes i am sure a lot of fighters or most athletes at that have a hard time dealing with criticism. Think how high their egos are and when people start denting that ego it takes a toll. Why do you think a guy like Floyd had to some people around him, too constantly tell him how great he was. Outside of that circle was a lot negativity, he would never be able to handle that.

Good for you Canelo let the haters know! Canelo never said he wouldn't fight GGG at 160, but that he wouldn't at the present moment, he gave him the option to come down in weight to fight him at 155, now that's if GGG except. No need to prove crap to the haters, Floyd took his time and picked when he wanted to fight certain guys plus it took queen Cotto 3 times to finally except the Canelo Challenge . .

There are weight classes for a reason. Catchweights were good when it first started now its abused and used as an advantage. Imagine if Ray Leonard demanded Hagler to drop to 155. That time Leonard wouldve gotten laughed at. Catchweights need to be banned or a while. Man up and fight at a weight if not BACK OF THE LINE!!

I was with your post until this. Calling a tough boxer like Cotto a queen is not cool. I'm not even a Cotto fan, I like Canelo's boxing style more.

As far as how big or small Canelo is, he's easily a middleweight. I don't get the reason he wants to drain himself against bigger guys, after Cotto.
