i'm talking about the canelo fight. that was the first time i'd ever heard of a rehydration cause. the porter-broner fight was the first time that i'd seen one actually be discussed by people involved in boxing. i hope it doesn't become the new catchweight, it's essentially a regression to the same day weigh-ins that were once banned for safety reasons

If its too much of a size mismatch dont make it fk it. Dude is 5'3 rehydrates to a whoping 125 pounds fight night and he is in his 30s. Id say he is already well enough over his limit weight wise. Without even mentioning the height disadvantage. There's money to be made elsewhere . Rigo would be ****** to be put at a disadvantage on every single thing for money, but that being said if he is ever going to fight Lomachenko and get a decisive W over him that will only get better looking over time the time is now.

I guess no guts no glory is the only reason I see for him to even be thinking of chasing this dude over his physical limit. Gotta admire the balls, but the brains of it...not so much.

Loma team respond to BOTH catchweight and rehydration clause was primarily negative. You shouldn't mixed up with facts.
Although I think Loma should meet rehydration clause demand for THIS fight. 124lb wouldn't be fair for Loma as he'd be like zombie but 134 at fifgt night could be done easily without the lose of anything

Obviously they want full 126 with no RH clause, that goes without saying. But they had an agreement and had started moving on to different aspects of the negotiations, now team Lomachenko is backtracking. They are well within their rights to do it but its just not a good look

Rigo plans to sign with Haymon where Mares, Sanata Cruz, Frampton, Russell Jr and a few 122 fighters already are. If Loma's team doesn't want to make any concessions, then he really doesn't need to take the fight.
