The reality was due to Floyd's reach and overall defensive style along with Manny being a little shopworn this was never going to be that exciting. Floyd did what he was expected to do which is grind out a fairly convincing victory. he was never going to go for the knockout and Manny just doesn't have it in himself anymore to go for the knockout. Waiting 5 years certainly helped these dudes' bank balance but it didn't help the potential of the fight as a spectacle.

i think we have reached a tipping point with the cheating tactics that are going on. its just not possible to be an entertaining sport and have those kind of tactics being used. this is why boxing has no multiplier effect. people will watch one fight then go missing for a year until they want to watch another. with boxing on network tv a lot more lets hope they try to take some precautions to reign in the cheating tactics at least a little so fights have some rhythm to them. you had people tuning out of this fight by the 8th round because they knew floyd would hold or bend over anytime pac came close. even pac tuned out because he realized he wasn't getting anywhere.

That's what happens when 70% pick the humble hero to win and he gets out classed easily there would be big celebrations if manny won a boring 8-4 fight

This fight was years too late. What a waste of my money. Mayweather is a coward pure and simple. The only thing more laughable than seeing these old men go at it is mayweathers claim to be better than ali.

I get what your saying, but Manny is equally if not more so to blame. The injury excuses are frankly embarrassing as well and would have expected more from Manny in that regard. I can understand him saying he thought he won immediately after the fight, thats a fighters pride, but really he should be shutting up about the injury and be more gracious about the defeat.

The whole thing was a massive let down. Shockingly bad undercard and a snoozefest in what was supposed to be the biggest fight in history.

I hope for the first, but not the second. I hope Al Haymon stay healthy but bankrupt.

I felt that Manny could've worked Maidana's strategy better than Maidana did.

For some reason he wanted to counterpunch Floyd instead of pressuring relentlessly.
Counter punching is how he was able to land the one or two clean punches that he scored all night. He didn't cleanly land any of his leads.

All the people disappointed are people who were rooting for Pacquiao. Yall should be mad at yourselves because for 5-6 years Mayweather fans have been repeatedly telling you how the fight would go and you stuck your heads in the sand. Yea it was a boring glorified sparring match.......................exactly what Mayweather and his fans have been saying for over 5 years.

if the casuals are disappointed then it's their fault for being gullible idiots who bought into the pacquiao myth

Front page of Reddit now there is a ******* of anti-boxing stuff. Never seen anything like it before.

Don't know how much damage it will do but it certainly hasn't done any good.
