Margarito got his ass kicked in the last round. Where this idea that he was coming on strong comes from I will never know. That was a one sided ass whupping from start to finish.

In my opinion he was coming on strong and it was looking just like the first fight...the only ones who would disagree are ricans and kneeguel kok riders and before they start with the plaster theory

One thing I will say about Cotto is that his fans(me included) know him better than most fans know their favourite fighters..... now I could be wrong but I really don't remember Cotto ever doing his signature footwork while backing away that is a tell tale sign to anyone who's seen most of his fights that he is tired/going on the defensive...

What I do remember is Cotto tying Margs up every time he came inside and pushing him back to the ropes. Cotto was 99.99% likely going to win. It would have been 3 rounds of the same IMHO.

No. Margarito's punches looked anemic in comparison and there was one exchange close to the last round in which Cotto caught Tony with a solid shot, and Tony actually fell forward into Cotto. It was overlooked but if I can find the exact minute and round, I will try and post it. I know Tony was making gestures and saying tough guy things to Cotto during the fight but he was getting beaten soundly.
