    Just cause your close to someone that's been there since the beginning doesn't mean they are qualified in doing other things you need. Floyd gave Leonard his chance at running his promotional company and it just sucks. Not sure if it's all on Leonard, but that stable of fighters is nothing special. The shows they have put out on shobox and sho ppv have been terrible.

    Leonard should still be there for Floyd but he was way over his head being a ceo or president.

            Pretty much this. Floyd could just leave the whole company in Schaefers capable hands, give him 50% shares of the company and he'd still make more money for Floyd in his retirement than Ellerbe ever could. Just look at the empire he built with Golden Boy. I see this as Floyd securing a pension as he's nearing his last fights.

              That would be yet another hellacious blunder.... No I think the majority of posters have it right...Ellerbe may not have been the most compitant but he had Floyd's back as a friend.

              Its interesting that Ellerbe protected Floyd from Fifty, another individual like Schaefer and the main man (Haymon) who would have left Floyd high and dry. This saga is a business and it is Shakespear and the problem now is that Floyd has little more earning capacity left...The handlers want to milk it, and get that cashout fight this means that Floyd will eventually be made to fight pacquio, and have one more fight before being left broke and friendless in a corner of Las Vegas somewhere by Haymon and company.

              Ellerbe was guaranteed to be pushed out and now Floyd is there for Schaefer and Haymon to work on. One thing I learned from my experiences: when it comes to these affairs....best off to work and keep friends. Yeah friends screw up occasionally, but they can learn and get better. But people like Schaefer, and look at Schaefer's attitude regarding De La Hoya, his fighters, De La Hoya's son, etc....are out for numero uno.

              Oscar learned the famous Machivellian principle that while Arum is a crooked baasteeerd, at least he knows what he is dealing with!

                  You dont know how loyal Ellerbe is towards Floyd over the yrs. Rumor has it that Ellerbe has been making power moves in Floyd name without Floyd knowing. That would be a big no no for me. These h0es aint loyal.... Lets face it all of them are kissing his a$$ b/c they all are in a really good place under Floyd's regime
