- Retire before the rematch with Ken Norton can be made claiming he needs a break
With all of these accolades into his career could Ali THEN be regarded as TBE?
Poll will be provided.
If SRR, SRL, fought Floyd's opponents would they be able to change their entire fighting style and dominate them all without getting hit by a single shot? Yea they may KO them, but they wont show the skills as Floyd.
If they all fought common opponents I believe that Floyd's showing would make them all look like sloppy bums who possess great KO power tbh.
They have better resumes I feel but just because you fought the best, dont mean that you are the most skilled. Some of them SUCK in comparison.

Yes, all that things you mention is just little things. 30-40 years from now people wont remember, care or even mention it. Maybe in very hardcore documentary they will come-out but fans wont care. just like Ali abuse to frazier or SRL ducking hagler for years had little effect in their's legacy.
If Floyd retired undefeated, 30 years from now fans and boxing community will remember him as Great undefeated fighter with P4P best Skill and technique. he maybe even considered as p4p best if he beat pacman.Last edited by betmen; 07-19-2014, 07:24 AM.

Absolutely NOT! And such a great thread point too!
I really respect Floyds skills as a boxer and I entertain the idea that Floyd MIGHT be the best but you can never become TBE if you act so cowardly and refuse to fight the best fighters in your era when it matters.
Pac will ALWAYS be held in higher esteem than Floyd because he fights anyone anytime and is a highly respectful peoples champion with an exciting style!
Everybody WANTS Pac to win for a start.
And judging by the recent form of Mayweather, I think Pac has a bloody good shot, hence why he is purposely ducked because of the risk.
It's pathetic!
Floyd is one of the most shameful figures in all of boxing!

I'm in no way a huge Ali fan but you wouldn't see Ali duck the main fight that all the fans want to see and you wouldn't see him making excuses to not fight someone.
SRR and SRL wouldn't need to change up their style to fight the likes of Mayweathers opponents nor Mayweather himself...
I think both of these guys would take Mayweather in a fight SRL with a decision likely using a box and move tactic but pressurizing Floyd shooting in and out of range.
Robinson would likely stop Floyd especially so If it was a 15rd fight, Robinson you could argue has greater speed and just as good an ability of skill-set plus we all know SRR could mix it up in the inside he'd go to war with Floyd and finish him within 10rds.
Really the point of this thread is to compare a guy who has actually fought every challenger compared to someone who made a lot of excuses but this is the face of our sport that we love...
It doesn't paint the sport of boxing in the light that we want or need it to be.

Ali is widely praised by many as "the greatest"
The question was clearly would it have been acceptable and it wouldn't.
The fact many ppl DO view him as having the highest of skills was the whole point to using Ali I gather.
There was considerable question as to who would win out of Frazier and Ali which is why they had to fight...
JUST as there is considerable question as to who would win out of PAcMan and Floyd which is why THEY are supposed to fight.
But that's not what we're seeing is it!
Your opinions cannot be taken seriously in light of these observations my friend.

And SRL ducked Hagler as well as Pryor. All fighters ducked Except Ali tbh.
I agree that SRL and SRR would beat Floyd's foes. But that has nothing to do with my comments because I already said they would. But they dont have the skillset that Floyd has. No one does. Only he can do to them what he did.
You say they can beat Floyd with all the mistakes they made? Are you one of these guys that take Floyd's worst fights and throw those versions of Floyd in fantasy fights? Like the Oscar fight when Floyd climbed up in weight for the first time, and barely tried to win?
Its NO WAY IN HELL They would even TROUBLE the Floyd who faced JMM. He would humiliate them EASILY. The Floyd who walked down Canelo, who weighed 164lbs? What will SRL tall skinny azz do to THAT version of Floyd? This dude lost to Duran at WW because he said he was "mentally weak"
Can you imagine him trying to overpower Floyd like he tried Duran? Boxing lesson. He would do that or try to outbox Floyd and that would be worse. It would be a counterpunching frienzy. And dont let me get started on SRR bumazz. I think Pacman DESTROYS SRR.
I think Floyd is sharper than MJ tbh. People lie and compare him to Tim Duncan hell no Floyd is like an MJ. But MJ runs and jumps the same as the other players.
While Floyd slips, and slides, and counters like a hologram. You have the sharpest athlete and he is in YOUR SPORT. Thats a GREAT thing to be proud of. Once he retires a boxer wont win an ESPN award for a very long time.
As far as comparing the fighters. Yea SRL has a great resume but he sux as a fighter compared to Floyd. I have Floyd in my top 3 all time, same as BHop. Based off of skills and what he does In the ring. Not because of his titles, or record. Plenty of fighters have great records and titles. But what do they do in the ring? They find ways to win. Floyd find ways to DOMINATE. I never seen it before and it wont happen again

Yea Floyd ducked Pac but SRL ducked Pryor and actually cherrypicked Hagler. I kind of think it would've been acceptable for Ali to duck because no one expected him to fight some of the guys he fought anyways.
