Don't care much about this fight but to say Cotto will taste the canvass in this one..no shame though well past his prime way past his best weight of 140/147

I want to see Cotto vs Alvarez, I think i might NOT, coz Queen Cotto will quit again once he see blood!

Cotto needs to draw Martinez to him and counter him. Sergio looks uncomfortable when he is forced to bring the fight to his opponent.

it's a good article about how to beat Martinez. i just brought it up because it mentions some of what you said

don't care for either, but it's better that Martinez wins
at least we might see him fight GGG or Murray in a rematch
Cotto has no future, he's finished
if Cotto wins, it only means Martinez was finished himself
anything but a Martinez KO here is shocking

They're both pretty beat-up fighters, both shop worn in my opinion. Cotto has been in worse battles actually but he just hasn't had the surgeries that Sergio had.

I don't see Cotto's defensein everygetting much better. at this point in his career Cotto is who he is. Roach can add a few wrinkles but Cotto is who he is.

honestly if Martinez is healthy I see Cotto getting dismantled and KOed. a healthy Martinez is too big, too much power and too much speed.

Cotto is a ballzy guy and he has a punchers chance against a healthy Martinez. if Martinez is hurt again the fight becomes a lot closer
how does one put a clinic on someone in a fight almost every observer scored 7-5... the only ones not watching the fight were the judges who went above and beyond to give trout a fair shake, giving him the benefit of the doubt In every round. That was a close fight. Cotto lost but he didnt get up for trout the way trout got up for him. He deserved to lose that fight, but I wouldnt expect to see that Cotto.

Cotto looked pretty bad no matter how you want to put it. he threw more punches but that's about it. Trout out landed him in every round except the 9th. Trout landed more power shots with greater accuracy and he landed the more effective punches.

you can say it was bad judging but the showtime unofficial scorecards were all over the place. Paulie's 114-114 was a joke. Bernstein' 115-113 and Steve Farhood had it 117-111

Steve Weisfeld is a pretty good judge and his score of 117-111 was fair. Adalaide Byrd has a pretty solid record too. she was the only judge to score Rios vs Abril correctly (remember how terrible the scoring in that fight was). John Poturaj's record looks pretty clean too.

honestly that fight couldn't have had much better judges.

Trout dominated compubox and just look at what a feather fisted Trout did

Trout looked like he was barely touched.

I just bring up that fight because Trout and Martinez are about the same size and both are pretty slick southpaws, except Martinez has much heavier hands.

if Martinez is healthy I think it's going to be a very difficult fight for Cotto. I'm not saying Cotto can't win but it's going to be probably one of the biggest challenges of his career. if Cotto wins I think it can only be by stoppage, I don't see Cotto outboxing Martinez and winning on points. I think Martinez can win by either stoppage or UD, so he has the edge.

however if Martinez isn't healthy it's a much closer fight and Cotto take the edge if Martinez can't move as well.

                  it's in interesting fight

                    cotto will get smashed

Sergio Martinez will knock cotto out! Cotto is not a middleweight! Martinez, Sturm, and Quillin need to stop ducking real middleweight champ GGG

Although it had a pleasing redemptive quality, I opinioned that Margarito II would be the last significant win of Cotto's career. That may well prove to be the case.

I know a lot of fans were rankled by the manner of that victory, but Freddie Roach doesn't train fighters to back peddle, and Maravilla's slowly breaking body is there for the taking.

Whilst Miguel might not be considered the best man for the job, if he does manage to pull of the upset, the dark spectre of Antonio Margarito might not loom so large over his career.
