It's a very hard decision to make on the part of everybody. Don't act as if it's an easy decision. There's so many variables involved. The one I've seen recently was the fighter's trainer/corner was telling the ref to stop the fight. I don't know the name of the ref, but he wanted none of it saying the guy who was all battered and bruised has to make the decision. The fighter, of course, said no.

i thought the same thing watching that last shot land, felt like smoger was already between them and Kirk loaded up on a last shot. I'll rewatch it tho.

I've said this before and I'll say it again, Kirkland is hella suspect in my eyes. His performances are up and down, he admits to having taken an unknown pill before a fight...he goes from looking chinny as f8ck to throwing power shot after power shot and not punching himself out...and then he does some **** like this, I can't help but think Wolf roids his ass. In any case I'd like to see him take a VADA test and see what kind of fighter he looks like then.

The bad thing is Tapia was already taking so much punishment.

The good thing is we dont have to hear Tapia or his corner complaining about an esrly stoppage because that last shot put him out.

kirkland was with a different trainer, living in vegas and spending more time partying than in the gym vs. ishida. yall keep holding on to that one fight. it was a fluke.

Thats just ridiculous. Have you even seen the workouts Anne puts him through? Theirs a reason they are considered the most INTENSE workouts in boxing. Thats why his cardio is so good.

He wasnt chinny as **** either. He took Tapias best 50 shots early and every time he gets put down he gets back up. The only reason Ishoda stopped him was because Anne Wolfe didnt train him for that fight and his trainer was trying to teach him how to box and be more tentitive that had him looking like a deer in headlights. Anne Wolfe trained Kirkland would have retired ishida faster.

The fight should have been stopped well before that shot was thrown. Kirkland is the last guy to blame. If I were to put it in order of blame it would be the corner, smoger, docter, then Kirkland.

Besides, the way Kirkland fights, he is in some other dimension. They guy is in some murderous zone.

You got it ass backwards. Corner, Kirkland, doctor, ref.

The last shot Kirkland threw was unecessary.

Tapia's corner and Smoger should of stopped the fight long before though.

How so? All those guys were hired to stop a fight if it got out of hand. Kirkland is there to fight. Not stop a fight when a guy gets hurt.

I put Smoger second because of his half assed attempt to stop the fight. If he did his job neither of the last two shots would have landed.

We know that, but OP's point is, Kirkland KNEW the fight was stopped, and he landed those last 2 shots anyways.

If you watch that fight, how can your argue that?

And what do you mean "half assed" attempt to stop the fight? Smoger's back was directly in front of Kirkland's view. That's a CLEAR stoppage.

Smoger's job is to protect the fighter. Not to hold onto the other fighter that's punching. He did that by shielding him, and waving the fight off.

Kirkland SNUCK in a shot, then landed the last shot that wasn't even necessary.
