Hating a boxer because of his fanbase.. Truth or BS?

A lot of people just like to hate on the guy who's doing well. Like I'm sure in his heyday, a lot of people hated/wanted to see SRR get his ass kicked, just because he was amazing. AS this becomes the consensus, more and more fans start thinking the same way, making a hater base

Its possible. I am not sure about hate but due to the ridiculous amount of hype I dislike GGG.

The praise he gets considering hes still fought nobody is sickening and I strongly feel he gets a pass where just about every other fighter gets **** on for the same thing(s). Its double standards.

I think half of his fanbase are like annoying kids.

It just irritates me and the lengths they go to & I tell you right now the second this 'unbeatable monster' takes a loss the ones that have hyped him too death will be the first off the bandwagon. They're not true boxing fans, they are glory supporters who overdo it and only like a fighter when hes winning.

lol! lucas matthysse was the last flavor of the month. so many said he's a beast, the greastest, the next one, he's being ducked by all these guys, etc... then he lost a 3rd time to a pure boxer. where are his nuthuggers now? he's a bum now I guess... GGG is the new flavor of the month until he loses. I've seen tye fields, dimitrenko & lucas as the 3 fighters that had an enormous amount of backing until they lost... bandwagon jumpers are the worst...

Sorry, but that is a shameless and unneccesary pulling of the race card there. WTF is racist about the term 'slick boxer'? The terms '******' and 'thug' etc. and the people that used them were booted long ago by Bringer so where is this trend you speak of? The mods have got a lot sharper at dealing with racism on here, subtle or otherwise. Credit them with that, it used to be a lot worse in the not too distant past.

I called a certain poster out on his bull**** stereotype of fans that like Broner and the guy is still on here posting today. All they did was delete his post, real convenient. The typical argument on this forum goes...if you even speak up for a technical or should I say "boring to some" black boxers your automatically categorized as a hood, on welfare, food stamp using, living at home bum. I've seen it plenty of times on hater threads particularly targeting Broner and Floyd. While I am the most unbias fan of boxing I know, and enjoy all boxers of all style and races, that **** needs to end. These are the same people that would not ever speak these words in person to anyone yet they sit behind their keyboards like cowards posting bull****, its really sad. Not once have I ever came across people, in person, that would even attempt to say some of the things some of our fellow posters get away with on here.

This guy almost makes me wanna hate Garcia Nah j/k Danny's dad is the only guy who can make me almost hate him, but a boxer should not be held accountable for douchie fans or family members he should be judged primarily on his skills obviously.

By who? and how often? Thats garbage and its overwhelmingly the floyd and broner fans that are most likely to make racist remarks. You only have to go back as far as the last two days and 2-3 of them have been banned in the wake of the Roach-Ariza incident. Since they dealt with that whole shameful zimmerman stuff there has been hardly any of the kind of crap you're talking about.

No, if I think a fighter is boring or overrated I just call it as I see it in the ring and some times how they act outside of the ring.

Broner is not a world class WW, he hasn't looked good against anyone I rate and he is mostly HBO hype and a clown.

Molina is an awful fighter to watch, what he does barely qualifies as boxing.

Wilder can hit but I can just tell has an Amir chin and will stiffen up and not recover when tagged clean by even a moderate puncher, don't ask me how I know I have been watching boxing a long time and can just see these things.

I get sick of hearing about them and reading ****** articles on here everytime they take a poop but Pac and May are the two best around their weightclass.

Quillen is another MW Berto, all athletic talent no real skill.

Leo Santa Cruz is fun to watch but he won't have a long career and will show to be prone to schoolings.

Ward is P4P maybe the best in the world, Matty is as good as was hyped but Garcia is just better than people gave him credit for, Mikey Garcia I still have question marks about and Gamboa will keep winning but get no notoriety its over he had his world wind hype but made some bad choices.

You can tell by some of the post who the losers are. I might talk **** to a Pac fan on here, but he's still my 2nd fav fighter behind Floyd. I'm black and my wife is Hmong(asian), I actually introduced pac to most of my in-laws. But when I throw fight parties I find myself arguing with them, about why not only does Floyd have a chance but why he'd be the favorite. I think people on here mostly blame the fans when really they don't like black, white, or asian fighters. Some people complain about black fighters bravado but not about guys like Froch or Fury. I dont take it personal because those who mention Floyd-Pac in every thread are obviously not real fans of the sport. The only fighter I hate was Margarito and that was only after the wraps. Im a guy so I'm not persuaded by what guys do outside of the ring, thats girly stuff, I dont care how much they get paid, that's girly stuff. I just want to see every top 10 fighter fight every other top 10 fighter. May the best man win!

People dislike guys like Manny, GGG and Lucas over fans. Nice guys in exciting fights who never talk **** and knock dudes cold. You can't deny it happens.
