Haha man you are right. The amount of hype Haye got after that win on here was ridiculous. You can throw Matthysse fans before the Garcia fight in there. The funny thing with that is that a lot of them just hated Garcia's dad but were saying things like "I hope Lucas puts Danny into a coma in the ring just so I can see his dad holding him and crying".

a few hundred internet posters dont represent the fanbase

Timothy Bradley for example, has 4 or 5 fans on the internet, when in reality he has more than 100 atleast

its a small sample size and shouldnt be indicative of an entire fanbase

        Well said.
Good point. I don't see how you can be a boxing fan if you're not impressed with the skills of both Mayweather and Pacquiao. I don't like Floyd's "Money May" public persona but he is a fantastic boxer.

I can understand people preferring one style to another. But liking a Muhammad Ali style doesn't mean that Joe Frazier is a bum. Or that Ali is a cowardly runner.

(I picked those two because nuthuggers don't have an emotional stake in fighters who've been retired for over 30 years.)

I grew up in an area with a sizeable filipino population. Their obnoxiousness made me dislike Pacquiao especially when he was in his prime and during the Mayweather drama. I wasnt as big of a boxing fan though back then as I am now. Now I have come to appreciate what Pacquiao has done in boxing over the last 10 years and though I still dont root for him I respect him greatly.

hating a boxer because of the childish rhetoric you hear from his idiotic fans on the internet?

if you're guilty of that you're foolish, and likely one of those idiotic fans.

dont get me wrong, i appreciate pac as well, hes a damn exciting fighter but i cant be around people whos crazy about him. oh yea, plus they hate me because im like a damn jehovahs witness when it comes to preaching about floyd lol.

thats why i dont host. i go to sports bars, or a neutral place. like a black friends spot lol

for people who are weak, yes that's true.

if your e-a$s is always getting e-kicked by the other fan base, chances are you become a hater not just for the opposing fans but also their favorite fighter.

I find hard to believe people don't connect the fans and the fighter/team. Certainly there are teams/fans that don't bother you but we all let two mix and it blinds us. I know I can't stand teams/fighters because I allowed it to happen. But I also don't clump all the fans in with each other. Think about a time you had a sensible conversation with a fan of an opposing team or fighter they actually listened and gave honest assessments. It often seems that fans have the same attributes we disdain in fighters or teams.

I just hate nuthuggers/stans in general. From my experience Mayweather/Cotto ones have been the worst n Hopkins' the most sensitive. Even more than Paquiao's fan base. Their hypocrisy/double standards amaze me on how much someone can love a man who makes money off you.
