Ward and his team are correct but I wonder how HBO would react if he doesn't go through with the fight. They'll most probably freeze his career.

The difference in the floyd-marquez fight is that coming in overweight was directly addressed in the contract. His contract directly stated an agreed weight and for every pound mayweather came in overweight he paid $300,000. So after he came in heavy, there was no further negotiation to be discussed, marquez couldnt ask for any more and mayweather couldnt ask for any less. This one didn't have an clauses like that, Rodriguez signed a contract that he'd come in at 168. After he blew that he has no legs to stand on when arguing this. Obviously I want to see them fight so I hope they come to an agreement but if those are the wba's rules about weight, he should follow them.

Its not just that. It's just that Ward been acting like a lil diva lately. Dude really not even an active fighter. Trying to call shots like he Floyd or some type of big draw. Even starting to act similar to Floyd a lil bit lately but hes not on that level or anywhere near it. Just do you homey.. and I like Ward but enough is enough with the diva ishh. I like the humble Ward (which he is sometimes) but lately I been seeing the "I'm entitled" Ward...

Nope. And that's why there is no obligation for either fighter to participate in it

Pipe down, clown bag. The only reason Ward is in this position is because Edwin is an unprofessional turd who didn't even feel the need to attempt to shed the remaining 2 pounds.

The fight will happen. I doubt Ward is even aware of this.

Its his lawyers and management trying to maximize profits.

Taking half of the guys money away for not making weight is ridiculous. Non-title fight, no problem but that is too much money. Ward should NOT try to get that rule enforced, otherwise if there is no fight, how is he going to make what he is making, plus a bunch of Rodruiguez' money?

How do you what stipulations the contract had in it? From what I know almost every Championship contract has that weight clause of 20% in it somewhere.

Pretty much and if Ward doesn't want to fight at 170, he shouldn't fight. Fcuk this greedy money-grab. They're all going to end up with nothing.

So has anybody on the staff here had contact with Wards team?

I'm not talking about twatter or facespace or any of that shit.
