Khan sounds like a broken record. He vowed to come back stronger after the Peterson fight. Amir "Glass Joe" Khan's reign needs to be examined. In one sense, his size is such that I think he's coming in a bit drained at 139 in this last fight. And yet, his chin is SOOOO suspect, that who can imagine him stpping up in weight to fight guys with more power?
I think the problem is he's a bit too coccky in his ability. He is too willing to engage like in the Peterson fight, and going for the KO. He could have won his last 2 fights had he chose to box conservatively a la Floyd. I'm glad he didn't cause the last 2 Khan fights were VERY entertaining for the fans...but it's put him in an undesirable position.
I'll still watch his fights cause for my money, or should I say time...he's usually involved in some of the more exiting fights to watch.
I'd like to see some more humility out of him...that's when I know he'll REALLY come back stronger.
And yet one last thought...the Prescott loss was a fluke...He got robbed in the Peterson decision, and the 2 points deducted for pushing while legit were unorthodox. He got caught with an unlucky punch in the 3rd round with Garcia which rocked him...but other than that, he's been pretty on his game...well yeah, there was round 7 with Maidana...but really, one could argue that he's just been extremely unlucky...or maybe just a bit careless. Let's just hope this doesn't transform him into a boring sanitized non risk taking fighter like the other 2 P4P fighters we know. =P
As some have already stated, Froch said what HE'D do if he had been KO'd more than once and going through a bad run. He never mentioned Khan or said what he thinks Khan himself should do. He was asked his opinion and gave it honestly.
Khan's immature response shows that he hasn't learnt a damn thing from getting sparked again. "My name's bigger"??? The reason for that is not because Khan's a better fighter or had a better career, but because he was lucky enough to get the Frank Warren treatment early in his career. From the sham "pro match" against Mario Kindelan (where Khan showed he could beat him with absolutely zero at stake) to the squash matches on prime time terrestrial tv in the uk. Then the big build up to SKY tv and even PPV before he'd even won a British title!!!??? Only to get starched in under a minute in the first match of his contract. Do people realise he was proclaiming himself above his peers at lightweight before that? "A couple more fights and no one will be able to touch me" were his words. It's this sense of entitlement that rankles people. Such as this supposed rematch request in the UK. Why does he even think he should get it? There was no controversy, no close fight. But yet it should happen because he thinks it should? Khan should be thinking about himself and how he rebuilds his career, not squabbling with Froch online. Maybe if he concentrated on who he's fighting, instead of ideas above his station, he'd be solidifying himself as a good champion by now.
Con ure not a bigger name ppl in the u.s kno who froch is hes a warrior unlike you con who cries about everything the only way you come back is if you fight feather fisted fighters I dont see you beating garcia,Bradley, lucas, josesito, ortiz, you better go pick on zab & paulie lol
