The ref's job is to make sure the rules are "clear" and instructions in the ring ARE understood...

he waved both fighters to the center and said let's go. wasn't that clear enough? everyone understood it besides ortiz.

Cortez never shouldve let Ortiz go in for the 70th hug

you can hardly fault cortez for that, it's easier to say that after the fact. that's why the rule PROTECT YOURSELF AT ALL TIMES is in effect.

keith kizer understood it was time to fight.
ringside officials understood it was time to fight.

ortiz made 3 mistakes after the point deduction

1. he didn't pay attention to ref instructions.
2. he didn't put his guard up.
3. he looked at the ref after he just got chin checked. even fucking amateurs know better.

nobody, and i mean nobody would be putting heat on cortez had the dumb, immature puto put his guard up and the round went on. it was nobody's fault but ortiz's.

You have to watch the post fight presser and listen to mayweather when he was asked if he heard Cortez call time in before you say all of this, and its on 24/7 episode 5

Kaizer, is not going to look out for Ortiz, he had two officials who ****ed up he doesnt want that heat on the commisson becuase it would then boil down to how he is training these guys.

The time keeper did not think time was in which is exactly why he and Cortez were busy speaking to each other while Floyd was sucker punching Ortiz

Also keep in mind Cortez lost his mother that day, you think perhaps some friends at work are going to feel bad for him? IMO they swept this **** under the rug rather than dealing with it head on and addressing the problem

whats this ownage you speak of, nobody has come back and debated the rules here...
They cant its that simple..... they have been reduced to personal insults which basicly spells out defeat in my eyes

Cortez waved his hands together and said "Lets Go". This isnt a hard concept to understand except for novice fans or haters that scramble together irrelevant info to prove their pointless opinion. Nobody was b1tchin Cortez's whole career as a ref when he kept saying "Lets Go" now its an abomination. This weekend watch the Martinez fight and I'll bet you'll see the ref break them apart and say something other then "Fight" to get them to return to the bout. Make sure you make a thread complaining about it that same night. If your're gonna have outrage be consistent about it.

well most Refs usually keep the fighters at a distance by using their arms spread out then making sure time is in..then looken at the fighters and sayen lets go...I'm not blaming Cortez jus simply saying if anyone is more at fault it is him...as far as "actual written" rules go....defend urself at all times is indeed their but with that ur sayen during the break the fighter should b up and guarded? and i mean the 1min break...lol...again Ortiz is at fault as well...i dont put any blame on Mayweather really and u seem to think thats what i'm getten at..look at my sig geez

On the same page? Both Floyd and Ortiz WALKED to the center of the ring AFTER Cortez said "LETS GO" and WAVED HIS HANDS TOGETHER...... how much more proof do you need?
