by the way, doesn't Mayweather always get tagged early in fights? Judah, Mosley, Hatton, even Marquez got in one good shot early before Mayweather knocked him down
i know you're a troll since you're in the red but

yea man, i agree, in fact, every floyd fight should be an automatic UD for floyd if it goes past round 3
because you if cant ko him within 3 rounds there's no way you can beat or ko him later on in the fight, floyd mayweather is "unbeatable" after that mark, FACT

Hard to tell with only 4 rounds but I was shocked at how much Ortiz's movement was making Floyd miss in the 4th.

Floyd was missing with that left hook, was missing with that jab, he didnt land as many jabs as we have seen him against previous southpaws.

But one thing that I did notice that stuck out to me, was that Floyd was movin to his right and not to his left to get a better angle on Ortiz, which explains why those left hands were missing as much.

Ortiz was hitting him, and though I agree Floyd was ahead on points, he wasnt spanking Ortiz the way many of the Floyd supporters here argue.

the way I see this, Roth gave Ortiz round one, it was that close, and if you watch, Floyd won the first 20 seconds of that round with his right hands and won the last 20 seconds of that round with them right hands everything inbetween was Ortizs work, sure the right hands seemed to be cleaner, but you score the round on the full three minutes of work.

Leaderman gave Ortiz the 2nd round, again people have been challenging the scoring when I have brought it up, but lets be real Roth and Leaderman have alot more experience at this game than we do so until one of us can prove that we are a step above them, its safe to say that a ringside official could have scored the first two for Ortiz, though that didnt happen the rounds were that close in which they could have.....

Meaning in terms of rounds it was a close fight in terms of punch stats I am not so sure we can rely on that, Ortiz landed more than what the numbers shown.

Floyd looked really good. I wanted to see him pick apart Ortiz, he was so supremely confident even taking the centre of the ring and coming forward. For a so-called defensive fighter it was pretty exciting. R3 was almost a clinic.

Has he declined? Hell no. But then when I think of Ortiz I think of a pretty crude come forward puncher, which would be tailor made for Floyd to look good, think bigger Hatton.

I think this fight showed us that Floyd is actually prepared to change a little, maybe for entertainment, or maybe because he just feels like it.

Everyone is under the impression that Floyd "tries" to look and fight fast. Floyd focuses on being effective. He misses shots like anybody else whether at 24 or 34. He doesn't try to throw blistering combinations rather than focus on landing sharp counters. These guys are humans, not machines and they will not land 100% of their punches.

It's simply an expectation. Floyd is known for being a fast, slick fighter. So every time he misses one punch or gets grazed with a shot, it is thought that he is slipping.

I believe Floyd is simply just more comfortable, he's not edgy in the ring, he knows he is smart enough to not have to over do his power or speed. He's also been more of a stalker as of late and vs southpaws, he focuses more on walking them down. That will result in missing a few more punches, but he still lands at a consistently high connection %.

My point being that Floyd is not trying to be the fastest. Just the smartest.

"Not speed. Not power. Just timing and inches (distance)..." - Floyd Mayweather Jr.

he looked the same to me...the same floyd who fought marquez and mosley. the only difference was he was the agrresor against ortiz from the start. that's what happened when you try to be more offensive, your defense suffers a little bit and so floyd got hit more than usual.

It was a great and exciting performance. Even better than what he did against mosley in my opinion.

He looked as fast as he has the last few years, and with much more aggression.

Too bad it ended like it did, because i would have loved to see more rounds.

Also floyd's handspeed definately looked slower in this fight. I'm not saying that because he wasn't landing often ortiz (Because he was landed a decent ammount) but to me he just doesn't look anywhere near as quick as people are saying he is and how he looked spectacular.

I think floyd was winning 3 rounds to 1 when the fight ended.

Floyd won fair and square in my eyes i'm just saying I think he is way past it and for all the training he did for this fight he is starting to look old.

                      Anyone else want to elaborate?
He lost a step or 2, victor was landing easy on the 4th
