While I hope not, it may be more like SRL vs Duran no mas, no mas fight!
it all depends on how much cotto has left in the tank, imo...just hate to see fights where the outcome is already etched in stone...

even though cotto has been through the ringers, he still is an experienced fighter who has fought everybody they put in front of him, has some better than average skills, and can punch, and fmj, although undefeated, and a great i like him, but, in the keeping it real department, for one reason or another, avoided fighting certain fighters, like cotto, when they were in their prime, and is definitely not the fmj of years past himself...could be a better fight than most anticipate...

For all the talk about how Leonard fought in a bad style for him that night, it was more consistent with his usual style than the dancer who showed up in the next two fights, and against Hagler. He was normally a flat-footed boxer who circled the ring. It's hard to do that when a swarmer like Duran is all over you.
maybe it has to do with all the comments team leonard let the press hear sometime after the fight... and , those who did the commentating and called the blow by blow account in that particular fight these people hear from the files in youtube... they were quite biased and all...

Not saying, that Cotto is in the same league with Duran, but Cotto, if he has anything left, does have bricks in his gloves, like the Hands Of Stone.

        That is all.
Actually Ray was dominating toe to toe, and he was the aggressor....His offense was throwing Duran off his game...then Ray started waiting, and letting Duran get shots off..Ray is Not Mayweather...he dont have Inside D on that lvl to be able to use it for 12 rnds...Once Duran got off, he was landing everything and turned it into a dogfight..Ray could have won, he just lost focus and stopped attacking, started waiting too much...when Floyd sees the mistake, he capitalizes, much like Ray in that fight...but Ray started WAITING instead of capitalizing on all the mistakes, and it was a mistake...I think it would have been Awesome if he got the job done, and I think he would have TKO'd him in the 14th rnd!

Bro when Floyd stands toe to toe with Cotto, he's gonna do MAJOR Damage...the closer he stands, the more damage is done...Cotto wont really be able to do anything except run and box on the backfoot...Floyd's gonna be throwing all sorts of combinations...and I think he's gonna stop him in 8 or 7 rnds..Floyd's planning on doing WAAAY too much damage...and Floyd's inside D...man..he just moves too much...Cotto isnt touching anything

I think this fight could resemble Mosley/Delahoya II but with the right guy getting the decision

This fight to me is closer to Ali/Frazier more than anything else, in terms of styles. Though... Ali had more of a jab than Floyd and Frazier had far better head movement than Cotto. I can see a leaping left hook landing on Floyd and putting him down. I can see a series of fights turning out like Ali/Frazier to be honest though I favor Floyd to win this fight, something like Ali/Frazier wouldn't surprise me.

i agree to a certain point...srl was a fighter who can do it all...he could box, or slug it out..he outboxed a lot of fighters, but when he was being outboxed, he wasn't afraid to go inside, dig deep, and slug a victory out...quite sure that duran knew he couldn't beat a boxing srl, that his best chances going into the first fight was to get srl to slug, he pissed srl off with calling his mother a whore in spanish, got srl to slug, and beat him...smart move...

srl said he realized that he let duran get into his head and out of his fight plan, got the rematch, and even when duran motioned for srl to go toe to toe srl, would shake his head no...duran said f**k it, and quit...lol

Cotto doesn't swarm like Duran did, especially at this higher weight. And Mayweather doesn't fight like Leonard did at this higher weight either.

I agree with you about how much cotto has in the tank but we must remember he only has 2 loses...1 coming at the hands of plaster and the other at catch weight but I think Pacquiao would have won on the cards regardless...Cotto is in his early 30's and has good experience in title fights and is still fighting at high level...for people to think that he is washed up is absorb...but to think Cotto could have beat Mayweather when they both were with Top Rank is just as crazy...The only reason I believe Cotto and Mayweather didn't fight years ago was the fact that Cotto wasn't ready to face Mayweather at that point and Floyd was in the mist of leaving Top Rank...Floyd was light years ahead of Cotto at that point and still is right now...The fight won't go the distance and Floyd will destroy Cotto simply because of his skills, speed, reach advantage and Cotto swells up and cuts up early in fights...There's no way his corner lets him take that type of punishment after 8 or 9 rounds like they did against Pacquiao...
