A fighter (Pacquiao) that dominated an opponent (Cotto) and wants a rematch doesn't walk away unless he feels the opponent is a tougher fight at his new weight.
Many fighters move up in weight when they feel there's an easier path to a title at the higher weight (Yuri Foreman). And Pac made it clear he wasn't fighting at jmw again after the Marg fight cause he wasn't comfortable at that weight.

I think Floyd actually might have to stay at 154 because of the muscle he put on if he goes back down cutting even those few pounds at age 35 could be a disaster.
Hence, the new road block. Fight me @ 154 punk! (Pac)

this is the precedent after the ped test, the split, arum, health and preservation then the 154 road block lol..

Idiots keep harping about weight.. Not knowing that Pac actually moved down in weight against Hatton and still demolished him.. And yet they still refuse to acknowledge that as a better win..lmao...Its like Pac is not susceptible to being drained while his opponents are.. Frankly speaking outside of the DLH fight, all those victories were not brought about by weight..

You can't fight someone smaller and expect them to gain all the weight to make the fight. It's called compromise. Stop making **** up.
Cotto moved straight up, refused to come back down for a massive payday and said it affected him. I think that's a good enough to assume he struggled to make weight.

Hatton weighed 170+ in between fights and had to lose all that extra weight in training camp. Go look at the pictures of prime Hatton (2005) and then at the ones near the end of his career, he looks sick on the scales.
You are douche dont you know that.. Hatton is a legit 140 lb fighter.. His last 2 fights before Pac were at LWW.. His best wins were at 140. In fact he is the lineal LWW champ when Pac fought him. If anything he was forced to move up in weight to fight Floyd..

              115-113 Cotto.

Cotto came and showed he can fight the best and win. The judges score cards were ridiculous.
              Should have gone specsavers.

Pacquiao was around the same weight fight night as he was at 130 he gained one or two lbs (probably due to his head getting bigger. LOL). Moving up basically helped him because he didn't have to drain himself (just make others do it).

If you have ever boxed or wrestled than you know how much cutting 2 pounds can take a toll on your body, strength, and stamina. Obviously everybody defending catch weights havent boxed or wrestled.

Again, fighters move up in weight class all the time, it doesn't mean they were struggling every time to make weight. So should Cotto get special credit for all his wins at 147 cause he was struggling at that weight? And if 147 was so difficult for him why did he weigh 146 for Clottey, 5 months before the Pac fight?
