So you just look at rankings? Dirrell was ranked 3rd , how much value did that have.?

Might be the loss to Lionel Thompson in which he looked completely shopworn and listless and then the victories against overmatched opponents following up that loss.

It's a stay busy fight but it seems a lot of the top guys in the division are stacking their schedules with stay busy fights hoping the phone rings with a payday or a title opportunity. Not singling Benavidez out just an observation of the division as a whole.

Huge fan of Benavidez, not a fan of this fight AT ALL

Uzcategui is not even rated Top 15 by the WBC at least fight a Top 10 in the WBC in which you're currently Interim Champ. Why not Jesse Hart who is WBC number 6 at least

To be clear, I didn't say that Uzcategui was a bum, much less a total bum.
What I'm saying is that you have fighter's that are currently more relevant than Uzcategui.

I was high on Uzcategui, when he knocked out Anthony Dirrell, but then he he lost to Plant, and Thompson, and hasn't done much since then.

He should be fighting Charlo, Plant, Andrade, and the like. Better than that, this weight bully should move up to light heavy and fight the top dogs in that division.
I agree to a certain extent but the problem is Haymon doesn't want to feed charlo to David because most believe David hurts him but you better believe if they really thought CHARLO could win they would have made that fight years ago. So they're stuck and this is the only option they have for David.

Benavidez should have left pbc years ago they only push black fighters and use non blacks as opponents but problem for them is Benavidez is no bodies opponent.

How long was the ban that Uzcategui received for EPO use?

I kinda remember him trying to leave and go to top rank to fight zurdo when he was still at 168. He got sued and forced to stay with pbc I believe.

Uzcategui never fought Anthony Dirrell, he fought Andre Dirrell twice.

I'm guessing 2025 Plant, Charlo and Benavidez will finally attempt to fight each other, or will it take a Canelo retirement? Another fight no one asked from these dudes.
