How can he be number 1 when the last credible opponent he has fought was a Oscar? That was 2 fights ago. And it was a competitive fight for him, when he actually fought someone who had a pulse. Being the best boxer doesnt necessarily mean you beat the best fighter.

Mijares better boxer got beat by Darchinyan better fighter.

Cotto better boxer got beat by Margarito better fighter.

Ray Leonard better boxer got beat by Duarn better fighter the 1st time.

Alexis Arguello better boxer got beat by Pryor better fighter.

You can easily flip the script & find countless times a better boxer beat a better fighter. The point is you never know until they get in the ring. You dont win fights by claiming it hypothetically. You have to get in the ring & verify it.

I personally think Mayweather's number 1. Not because he beat JMM or because that's where he was when he left. It's because I just can't see anybody out there that could beat him.

IMO Pac is the only one who could actually trouble Mayweather, but I think May would win that fight too.

fitzsimmons is a boxing charlatan. he's so impressed with mayweather when pbf is too big for marquez. pbf did not even submit for weigh-in before the fight because he was weighing over 160lbs. he did not mind forfeiting 600T just to ensure he's 20 pounds heavier than his old opponent.

ivan calderon is more impressive than mayweather because he beat the bigger and younger opponent in rodel mayol.

The much slower JMM tried to counter a counterpuncher and gave Mayweather time to think and measure him out. He should have been trying to pressure him and tying him up like Hatton did and he would have faired much better. He kept fighting the same way from rd 1 on and took a beating.

Pacquiao should pressure with speed and aggression, and and cut the distance between the 2 guys don't give him time to think or space to measure him out. The right uppercut would be good as Floyd always ducks to the left after a right counter shot.

at 147/140 AND JMM fought a prime skillfull Mayweather.

Fact of the matter is that JMM gave Manny the
toughest fights of his entire career TWICE AND JMM
has always been older than Manny the first and 2nd time.
Is all about skill, weight comes into play but people cant

JMM trained his heart out and is one of the top fighters,
and he got totally outclassed from round 1 to 12.

I see Floyd doing the same thing to Cotto and anyone
else his size. Everyone needs to just face it, regardless
of Floyd faults and insecurities, when he gets in that
ring, fighters cant hang. Now Castillo will be bought up,
Ok fair enough but I believe Floyd was injured in the first
fight and beat him soundly in the 2nd....... Too bad Manny
couldnt do that to JMM. Im sure Mosley is going to get

Again, you completely miss the boat because you are trying so hard to give Floyd every ounce of credit that you can, and you argue everyone else away as "haters", simply because they don't reflect your same viewpoints.

I think deep down you know he hasn't fought a legitimate welterweight so you dance around the question and yet label everyone else as haters. That doesn't end/stop the debate, the point still stands....WHO HAS FLOYD MAYWEATHER JR. FOUGHT AT WELTERWEIGHT THAT WAS/IS A VIABLE THREAT SINCE HE STARTED CAMPAIGNING AT THAT WEIGHT CLASS?
