Mayweather being american had hype from the start and didn't NEED to fight so many bums and journeymen.

If I was to pick a rematch I'd want to watch, I'd have gone with Joke vs Hopkins, it would have been much more competitive.

Tbh, even that I wouldn't be in a rush to watch, it'd probably have the same outcome. But the point I'm trying to make is that saying Floyd should have come back to rematch DLH is not a great reason to criticise him with. There are others, but not that. But if you are gonna use that, then you can't jus gloss over Slappy vs Hops, seeing as it's a comparison thread between Joke and Floyd
Personally I doubt Calzaghe-Hopkins II would be competitive at all. Joe fought the worst fight in several years.

I don't like the fact that PBF retired in his prime. That's my point. I think he should have fought at least 3 more years starting with DLH. I probably wasn't clear in my first post. Of course Mayweather has the right to retire any time he wants to and doing it while being on top and with his faculties intact earns my respect, but his legacy suffers accordingly.

      Joe retired at 37.

anyway calzaghe was too scared to fight a guy ottke beat. says a lot. probably cause ottke has a running defensive style and calzaghe's come forward throw a lot of punches style would get eaten alive vs johnson. joe isn't as dumb as he looks. he knows he loses vs johnson.
I've grown fond of your sathirical (spelling) style. I really am

Mayweather easily, although a highly skilled fighter he retired in his prime when his divison was laced with opportunities.

PBF. Dude walked at his peak and left unfinished business behind. Talked **** about fighters, then rattled off all the reasons why he was not gonna fight em.

Joe was past prime at age 37, he had repeated hand injuries for 7 years. He'd been fighting as a pro since the early 90s, and had been a world champion since 1998. He was getting cut and knocked down in fights, that never happened until he was well into his 30s. He had proven himself many times over, there was nothing else he needed to do.

lol............................. Thats all im gona say.

When your 1st fight against a P4P fighter is B-Hop and the dude is 43, not to mention your own people believe you didn't win that fight...you should get some serious criticism.

And thats my main issue with him.

Everybody i knows im not fond of either fighter, but lets be honest after the Jones fight who was is on Joe's horizon? dude was 37 and by law of average he had or was about to start slipping. Dawson presented more risk than reward money wise, and resume wise.
