Why De La Hoya vs. Cotto wouldn't be hypocritical...

I see a lot of dumb ass Floyd boys calling Cotto and his fans hypocrites for wanting him to fight De La Hoya.. why do you want Cotto to fight him but not Mayweather? Ugh, simple.. because Floyd already fought him once and beat him.. there is no point in a rematch!!

There is a point in a Cotto vs. DLH fight though, it brings more exposure to Miguel Cotto and puts him in the spotlight like it did Floyd and generates more interest for Mayweather vs. Cotto to fight!! No one was against the first Mayweather De La Hoya fight in the first place.. I think the majority of us can agree looking at it now that though it did nothing for Mayweather's record and legacy (like it wont do nothing for Cotto's) It did put him in the spot light however.

When history looks back at these champions the De La Hoya fights will be of little to no significance career wise since he is old other then the fact that it got two champions who otherwise wouldn't of been as well known exposure.

The De La Hoya Cotto fight isn't about legacy and has no legacy value at this point of Oscar's career IMO but that isn't what the fight is about..
It's about getting Cotto up there so Mayweather can stop being a little girl and saying he isn't well known and doesn't have a fan base etc.. and get him to fight...

I know he is retired now but if this fight is made and this fight is won by Cotto.. I can almost guarantee Floyd comes out of retirement to fight him.
If he doesn't then.. well at least it gets Cotto exposure and makes his fights and the welterweight fights he is in more views and by doing so also exposes the audience to the other welterweights in the division.

De La Hoya did a lot for Mayweather's legacy.

Cotto would only take it for the money, not the competition. I mean, come on, can you honestly say, minus the punchers chance, Oscar has any at all? PBF will always have that mark on his career as he bowed out - COTTO. The biggest threat he would ever face at WW. He was smart to retire, given the money was no more an issue, but his heart WILL ALWAYS be challenged against that of the elite fighters. He ducked the one fighter he will come to regret - I garuntee it.

^^^But Cotto already beat zab, mosley, quintana and if he fights oscar that means he beat Tony...So he can still fight oscar then maybe Paul Williams. Floyd was criticized for not fighting a fighter like tony or cotto before oscar, then retiring

I also think it would bring the needed exposure that Cotto lack at the moment, This would help the Mayweather/Cotto fight in the long run.

If what the PBFloydians say is true about Floyd coming back.............

Why are they hating on Cotto/DLH? So Floyd all of a sudden is going to actually give Cotto a look now? **** outta here you contradictory, hypocritical lying sumavabeeshes. You dudes say Cotto gotta raise his PPV game up, but you don't want him to do it against Mayorga or De La Hoya who are really the only other PPV fighters within his range that can help him do this.

                  Stop being hypocritical for once.

it is hypocritical for cotto to fight delahoya, but who cares... that's what cotto fans get for harping on mayweather so much. just take it in the a$$ like a girl.
