This ongoing feud between 2 of our posters....

I'm talking about the decade long seemingly neverending feud between Dr. Z and the poster who these days goes by the name of Bronson66.

I continously get reports and PM's regarding this rift, but I can see that I have not been able to solve the matter myself.

So I therefore ask you other users of this forum for advice and suggestions is how to deal with this.

I will consider deleting posts by Dr.Z and Bronson66 if they post in this thread.

    - - The Age of Internet has introduced the common dolt and other miscreants to a more widespread public. I know at one point East Side collapsed and may still be collapsed, but at any rate their sewage was released and gushed here.

Like I say, this History forum used to be tops for epic commentary and analysis of boxing when I joined as Kid Blackie. I probably could be more civil, but then again I don't issue death threats as has happened here and have a calloused persona that doesn't get easily riled and otherwise bothered.

And we still get some good commentary enough to keep my memory sharp about my favorite sport.

I know, let's have a spelling contest. -Val Kilmer as Doc Holiday

As long as it stays on boxing it's all good in my book.

thanks for the thumbs up queeny i appreciate your kind words. and from me to you, you have definitely an above average knowledge of the noble art.
i enjoy correcting you and seeing you learn and teaching you gives me great pleasure!!

as for those two warring guys i once a few years ago read them going
"i arrived at jfk airport all ready to fight and you didn't show up as the coward you are"

and the other guy said "yeah and i was waiting ready to fight the minute you got through customs but I said 347 am and you arrived pm showing me you cant read a clock let alone box my ears off"

and it went on like that for ages.

        i find it funny.
willow and bill and willie and jab and the devil and ghost of dempsey and anomalocaris and tatabanya and BKM and mr mitts and ben bolt etc are full of knowledge and so it is great to debate our fav sport and the mods are brilliant in my opinion. and just look how far queeny's knowledge has come along in recent times!

Some guys take their anger and hate to the grave. No names mentored! If he places me on his ignore list, I will do the same. I have suggested this before. In truth I don't hate him, but he has said repeatedly that he hates me.

Sounds like a great idea for both of you to use the ignore function.

It only takes one to stop fighting but two to drop all negative references.

What happens to two guys who cannot stop fighting at work? Whether one or both are fired it stops the fighting in the place that matters to those doing the firing. Then again, work is not about debating but forums are. It is hard to know where to cut off free speech. Same with disagreement clashes. If both men sincerely believe what they are saying I suppose the tolerance limit goes up.

But when we suspect there may not be full sincerity in the exchanges the tolerance limit goes down proportionately. Sincerity goes a long way, though never all the way all the time. If someone comes on here and threatens to look people up and do violence on them, they already exceeded the tolerance limit and probably permanently and it does not matter how sincerely spoken it was spoken.

Some statements exceed the limit in one fell leap. I suppose those are the easy cases to discipline, the clear ones.

The other thing you have to consider (which you are) is the sheer volume of clashes and the ratio of disagreements vs agreements between the pair. What I find myself questioning is whether two sincere men can sincerely and consistently disagree at their ratio on a subject as complex as boxing. You know Venn diagrams--two circles that overlap according to the amount of agreement, diagrammatically shown as area. These two boys hardly overlap at all on anything not undeniable--such as Marciano was a heavyweight champion and Chuvalo had a better chin than Ingo.

Bronson has requested instructions on how to use the Ignore function so he's presumably taken the necessary steps.

As mentioned in my suggestion here the ignore code needs an upgrade so that if someone on your ignore list is quoted that post gets hidden too. It's definitely possible and would really enhance the reading experience.

I have given instructions as well.

In the old days the ignore function made sure that the poster on ignore was unable to post in threads made by a poster that had him on ignore. That was supersmart.

I presume it's still like that?
