DISCLAIMER: What I offer below I recognize is unfair to Bat, for he is being used, and therefore being abused. That is wrong. The PMs need to stop. It is not Bat's job to hold either of their hands.

    BUT . . .

I always view this forum as a bunch of boxing fans sharing pints in a pub. There are always a few that are loud, sometimes too loud.

When they get too lound the bouncer taps them on the shoulder and reminds them. When they don't quiet down he bounces them out of the pub for the night (banned for a while).

Yes, in this situation, they are loud and they sometimes are too loud, but pubs are supposed to be loud, just not too loud.

I don't want to join a gentleman's club, I want to hang out in a loud pub.

My suggestion, a touch more 'bouncer' involvement.

Throw them out for the night more often, but just for the night. They'll learn to find the right volume.

P.S. I know Bat does not have 'banned' power, but that needs to change. He needs that empowerment and should be free to use it at his leisure, like a bouncer. That I believe will fix the problem.

I don't really know about feuds, or anything of that nature, but here's a question: why do anything?

I mean, to be fair, I think an online feud is silly. We are all grown men here, is there really a grown adult man who is legitimately upset about what someone says about them online? Think about it, even if someone types insults at you- its online. Its not like your manhood was challenged in front of your wife and kids, its not as if they are making you look bad at work or something that would matter- its just online. Are there people who are really tossing and turning, losing sleep at night, keeping their spouse up due to what someone typed about them online (I just can't imagine turning to their spouse and breaking down their frustration about what someone said about you on a website).

Honestly, there are some smart people here, I'm sure they are great guys to be around, and I enjoy talking boxing with them, but I don't really care about any of ya'lls opinion about me- you are just internet people (no offense though, I'd hope you'd feel the same way about me). You can insult me as a person, go ahead have at it, I really won't care (a wise man once said, "the moon doesn't go howling at the dogs"). I can just ignore it, and no I don't mean put you on some sort of ignore list, like legitimately read it and ignore it and keep going- as any grown man should. I mean the only thing worse than someone who get bent out of shape over what some random internet person types about them, is the moronic internet tough guy who has to drop personal insults about someone else on the internet

Now maybe some of you feel like your opinion is so important that it needs to be heard (a problem that all society it seems) and these people insulting you are stealing from your thunder. But think about it, is anyone worthwhile, whose opinion you really want to influence, going to be swayed by someone elses idiocy? I have had people argue points with me here by bringing up the most illogical points- the most asinine arguments that deflect to points that make no sense whatsoever. My thoughts: 1) they are too ****** for me to argue back with (and I don't need to tell them that). 2) Anyone who is intelligent can easily recognize the other person's point is ridiculous and won't be fooled by it. 3) Anyone who is fooled by the other person's argument is too ****** for me to care about their opinion anyways. This don't mean you can't have disagreements here- heck with we can go back and forth over whose the top Super Middleweight ever for 15 rounds; but I aint gonna let your opinion bother me, I'm an adult.

So there you go, just act like a grown man (like a real one, not an internet one), and youll be fine. And if other people arent, guess what, no sweat off my back I can just ignore it.

No sh it. But it's typical Boxing SCENE: The good posters leave and the detritus they were feuding with stay to make the rest miserable.

              Right, THAT'S IT!!!
you are definitely going on my ignore list for saying that!!
and before you reply you are also a n$zi and no doubt so sad that you cry into your pot noodle all day and as for your point about us all being just random people I will let you into a little secret I am actually, for your information, a super hero and you are just too drunk at 10am to ever be clever enough to realise that and I am now off to save a maiden from the clutches of an evil king while you cry into your pot noodle!
I only reply to you because you wont leave me alone because you are a social reject and i actually pity you in all truth!
              ================================================== ====================
ha ha can everyone just cut and paste this now as I think it covers all petty arguements I have ever read on forums.
Ha ha, I need some sleep!!!
can't we all just agree that queeny is right 12 per cent of the time!
i think this song is apt to this.
I would add all seriously that the mods on here do a really good job of allowing things to flow and not be all over laying down the law all the time. I respect them. They deal with stuff in a way that I think is fair and with a sense of humour.

My main motivation for using the Ignore function is to improve the NSB reading experience. I really don't need to see the same obsessive weirdos rerunning the Pac-May contract negotiation argument in every thread. So boring. Unless someone is prepared to examine the Pac-May rivalry in an interesting, introspective way I really don't want to hear about it again.
