The scores were 114-113 for Butaev, 116-111 for Stanionis and 117-110 for Stanionis.
The fight began with a battle of jabs in the first round. It was give and take in the next two rounds, with the jab of Stanionis doing a lot of work. Butaev was digging more and more to the body in the fourth. They were trading hard shots at close range in the fifth.
After a close sixth, Stanionis was pressing forward in the seventh to make Butaev work very hard. The jab of Stanionius continued to create problems. During the eight, the face of Stanionis was really getting busted up as they continued to trade punches at close range.
Butaev was doing more in the ninth, with Stanionis upping the tempo as they continued to fight hard in the tenth. During the eleventh, Butaev lost a point for pushing down the head of Stanionis. They were throwing hard bombs in the twelfth. Butaev was connecting with more of the hard shots. Stanionis was willing to exchange and land hard punches in return.
