An ancient Mark Coleman managed to take fedor down, light heavyweight Ricardo Aron took him down a number of times.Cain Velasquez is a much better wrestler than Ricardo Arona and he still has a working pulse unlike Mark Coleman.fedor can't deal with takedowns, which is why he held onto the top rope for dear life against a middleweight in Matt Lindland.

And what happened after the Division 1 Wrestler Mark Coleman took him down? The same thing that happened to Kevin Randleman, he got tapped.
Wrestling does not equal MMA lololol, please learn about this sport before you make ******ed comments.

Are you taking the piss? Randleman and Coleman are known for being completely useless on the ground.Velasquez is alot more disciplined and skilled on the ground than Randleman and Coleman,do you even wish to debate this.
Why are you so certain that the same thing would happen to Velasquez? When has Fedor ever submitted somebody who actually had knowledge in ground fighting? Babalu? Arona? Nogueira?

fedor is no slouch when it comes to the ground...sure hes gotten taken down a few times but hes managed to get out of it to stand back up alot also...cain is good on the ground but i just think fedor would crush him..

If you don't think Fedor - The undefeated champion of the HW division for 6 years can't defeat a rather green (7-0) Cain Velasquez, you're wrong. The guy is a great wrestler but he couldn't even finish Congo, if you're trying to tell me that he should even be compared to Nogueira on the ground, you're an idiot.
Fedor is the undisputed king, until someone decisively beats him it will stay that way. Cain has much more to prove.

I like Cain he is exciting to watch but remember the Congo fight how he was able to hurt Cain in the beginning of I think the 1st 2 rounds until he was taken down and dominated? I think Fedor stretches him before Cain gets the chance to take him down.

Oh,so Babalu and Arona are not legitimate now are they? Have you actually seen Fedor's fght with Ricardo Arona? Can you pick another fight of edor's where he faced such adversity? Many still think Arona won that fight.
My point was that fedor has never submitted somebody who wasn't clueless on the ground,he has never submitted an accomplished ground fighter in an MMA fight.
You are accusing me of making claims that I never even made.I never claimed that Velasquez would beat fedor and I never compared Velasquez to Nogueira in terms of his ability on the ground.I merely stated that fedor can be taken down and that Velasquez with his credentials,is more than capable of taking him down and that Velasquez isn't clueless there and knows what he is doing in that position.

And I beg to differ, take Naoya Ogawa for instance, he has more grappling and submission credentials than the entire UFC Heavyweight division and Fedor made him look like a tool on the ground. Mind you Ogawa is an Olympic and World Class Judo competitor. Also, Matt Lindland has only one other submission loss against Murilo Bustamante, I would not call Lindland a slouch in submission defense at all - Again, Fedor made it look easy. (You're going to ***** about him putting his arm on the ropes, but it really didn't matter and everyone knows it)
Ogawa's Judo Credentials:
Olympic Games
Silver 1992 Barcelona +95 kg
World Championships
Gold 1987 Essen Open
Gold 1989 Belgrade +95 kg
Gold 1989 Belgrade Open
Bronze 1991 Barcelona +95 kg
Gold 1991 Barcelona Open
Bronze 1993 Hamilton Open
Bronze 1995 Chiba +95 kg
Asian Games
Bronze 1990 Beijing +95 kg
Asian Championships
Gold 1988 Damascus Open
Cain's wrestling Credentials:
Arizona State Wrestling
Iowa Central Community College Wrestling
You can't talk about strong points making the fight, it is not a wrestling match or a judo match, it's not who has gold medals or who has bronze - It's a fight, and Fedor knows how to fight. The dude is the greatest fighter thus far in MMA, it's indisputable.
And further, just because Fedor didn't submit the other ground wizards doesn't mean that he couldn't. Why would you put yourself in the strong point of your opponent when you could just control them from where you choose? I don't get your argument.
