I don't really care about the MMA vs boxing debates. Most just ignorant people on both sides making ****** arguements. But one thing people keep saying is '90% of street fights end up on the ground'.

Maybe I missed all of those fights, but from what I've seen or been involved in, fights are usually one of two ways: very quick because one guy knocks the other out (or down) after one or two punches, or just kinda wild and Calzagheish with both people trying to throw as much as possible to overwhelm the other guy but not having much technique. Usually adults are the first way, teenagers the second.

If a fight ends up on the ground, it's probably because someone got badly hurt and dropped, then had someone hit him when he's down. That's not really ground combat or grappling though.
