Limey love is what we're all about so we need to stick to the british market. The fat yanks are unlikely to understand the intricate plot twists and would get angry when the two protaganists banter with each other. The fat yanks would be sitting at home talking to their mate on the sofa next to them (every fat yank needs a 3 seater sofa to themselves, for obvious reasons) and say "why does he take that **** off his partner dude, I'd shoot him if that was me...pass me another hotdog".
