Anybody else eat food past its sell-by date? The missus and sister think i'm disgusting for it.

I think it's pathetic how 95% of the time, the food is perfectly fine past that date they stick on. It amazes me how much these supermarkets/corner shops must lose out on stock being reduced because of this.

'use by' can be risky, but 'best before' isn't a problem for me.

Depends what it is... can usually tell if it's good to eat, wouldn't risk it with something like chicken if it's a few days gone.

2 days, give it a sniff and go for it
3+ days, taking a risk.
