Fought average Welterweights, and old middleweight cans, and HBO, and a large majority of the boxing public - being the idiots they were - bought into the whole story of him being a destroyer.

When De La **** is bouncing around on his toes and popping you with the jab, and smacking your face with combos - guess what? You ain't no monster.

The fact that I saw so many people rate him as a top 5 Welterweight of all-time, shows how much of an overrated **** he is.

You're 50/50 to me, Tua.

You'll accept the greatness of people like Fitzsimmons, but at the same time accept the hype and hyperbole that HBO sell you about fighters.

Hopkins, Jones, Trinidad, Oscar - none of these clowns are ATGs.

you can say he was borderline great but he can't just be a good fighter.

not even just a really good fighter.

you don't win titles in 3 division just being "good" or "really good"


problem with him is 1. he retired young and when he came back wasn't the same 2. no really great fighters in their prime around his divisions.

losing to hopkins at 160 isn't that bad. neither is losing to oscar at 147.

tito had too many good , solid wins to be not a great fighter.

he had a good run of reid , vargas and joppy along with 3 belts in 2 divisions in a space of a year.

those wins are underrated because vargas and reid's resumes were not reflective of their skills. reid and vargas was damn good fighters.

roy jones fought EVERYONE. who the hell did he nitpick? silly talk.

aside from michalczewski roy fought the top guys at 175. he might have missed a few guys at 160-168 but he didn't stay there long.


hopkins didn't really duck anyone either. but his division was god awful. plus his best wins were against smaller guys.

bad fighter = your tomato can , guys who lose more times than they win

mediocre fighter = can consistently beat bad fighters but can't consistently beat or always has a hard time against average fighters

average fighter = can consistently beat bad fighters but can't consistently beat good fighters

good fighters = can consistently beat average fighters but cant beat a great fighter

great fighter = can consistently beat good fighters and only has a hard time with other great fighters or once in a while a good fighter who is a bad matchup

all time great fighter = can consistently beat everyone , only has problems with other great fighters but only occassionally.
