no diss to apun but I give it to Ra. Rakim's flow in his era was second to none, maybe Big Daddy Kane but that's it. Ra had a presence on the mic his flow wasn't too fast or too slow, it was just right. Combined with his lyrical ability his voice was sharp.

I'm a huge fan for both.
But they were two different deliveries...
Big Pun could switch his delivery up when Rakim was consistently the same kind of rhymer. And honestly Pun came off much more thorough than Rakim. The way he dropped on certain verses like 'Pina Colada' or 'Triplets' was straight hard as ****. Rakim was the smoother flower and was always liquid, but Puns delivery was more intense.

His clever punchlines actually far surpass Rakim's. Lyrically Pun can be considered top 3 to do it, the wit in his lyrics was genius and exceptional.
