      Sets the whole melancholy, surreal tone for the rest of the film. Goddamn classic.

        One of my all time favourite movies, man. Try and stick with us a little longer though Brother, you gotta at least have a decent run at the 2021 Pick Em title first.

                Saving Private Ryan was the most incredible opening I seen in a cinema, had to go with my parents as I was only 12 at the time.

                It starts off with a 3/4 minute scene in the graveyard with the old guy, then zooms into his eyes and it cuts to them on the landing crafts...... amazing!

                      Yeah, captures the spirit of our times in real way, the disillusionment, the loss of hope and the frustration... Regular folk who worked all their lives beleiving it'd lead to something better only to get discarded and screwed over when they're no longer of use. Realise they were just cogs in the machine. Damn, puts me in mind of some of the pension fund scandals we've had over here. Message of hope in there too though, with the redemption of Robert Duvall's character - whose name I can't recall right now..

                      Speaking of whom another little snippet from my atg fave movie..
