What's up fellas!? I hope all is good with you guys as your walk with CHRIST continues each and every day. I was in church yesterday and the pastor touched on these two verses:

    Luke 20:45-47
Then, in the hearing of all the people, He said to His disciples, “Beware of the scribes, who desire to go around in long robes, love greetings in the marketplaces, the best seats in the synagogues, and the best places at feasts, who devour widows’ houses, and for a pretense make long prayers. These will receive greater condemnation.”

    Luke 21:1-4
And He looked up and saw the rich putting their gifts into the treasury, and He saw also a certain poor widow putting in two mites. So He said, “Truly I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all; for all these out of their abundance have put in offerings for God, but she out of her poverty put in all the livelihood that she had.”

For the first verse he talked about what kind of believer we were. Were we a scribe or a widow. Did we hold ourselves in high regard due to being in CHRIST or were we humble in knowing that all have fallen short and need salvation. We need to remember at times to check ourselves and remember how we once were and what we are trying to achieve as we push toward in CHRIST. Although I pray for a lot of other people I try to pray and ask GOD to check me and make sure there aren't areas where I'm letting pride or anything creep in. Self evaluation is tough at times but if we allow GOD to work through us and pray HIS will on our lives while denying ourselves then in the end, and even now, we can be more effective as believers.

The second verse really hit home as he mentioned giving all you have for GOD. I know the married guys can relate to this. Nobody or marriage is perfect and we all go through difficult times, but he mentioned he does a lot of marital counseling and people will say "I'm done, I don't have much else at all to give." He said he always tells them to "give that, however little it may be." When we barely have any left or sometimes it feels like none at all we owe it to the GOD we serve to give HIM the very last because HE gave it all for us on the cross. HE didn't pick and choose what sins HE was gonna cover or say HE had so much to give, HE paid the ultimate price for us.

So I encourage you all to continue to press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of GOD in CHRIST JESUS, and always remember that you have like minded believers here for you when you need strength or someone to lean on. GOD bless you all.

good stuff, that daily prayer is really important, that's the spirit of what Jesus was talking about in those passages. we need to be always watchful of ourselves not to harden our hearts and let some form of pride come in. proverbs 15;29 says God doesn't hear the prayers of the proud, if we want God to hear us we need to be humble and have faith.

Amen bro, checking ourselves and asking GOD to sift through our thoughts and intentions is an eye opener at times. But HE will reveal what it is that we need to work on and what maybe causing separation from HIM

What's going on brethren!? I pray the LORD is with you all and keeping you and your families safe and healthy while we continue to be in the world but not of the world, expectantly looking forward for the return of our LORD and Savior JESUS CHRIST. I just wanted to check in on you all and make sure everyone was doing well. I forever keep you all and everyone in my prayers that you would allow the LORD to lead and guide your steps, while also denying yourself daily, taking up your cross, and following CHRIST. Remember although we may go through trials and things to test our faith that you have like minded believers in the body of CHRIST fighting those battles as well, so we are not alone. Continue to push toward GOD and lean on your fellow brothers for accountability as well as a helping hand and words of encouragement. That's why we have other people, so we won't try to go at it alone. The devil wants nothing more than to get you by yourself, doubting so he can plant seeds of discord to turn you away. But we know, even when it may feel we are alone, we have an advocate sitting at the right hand of the FATHER with all power, ready to fight the battle and help us when we may lack strength. Again, GOD bless you all. If you happen to stumble into this thread and aren't a believer, know that it's for a reason. GOD reaches out to us in many ways so that we can come to know HIM, don't let this time pass you by. Don't let another day pass away without knowing the true and risen Savior, who will give you peace, love and understanding beyond anything you can imagine. HE knows you, HE loves you, and HE desires a relationship with you. Give HIM a chance, you won't be disappointed. GOD bless.

I found Rips contribution that you quoted to be profound and exactly what this thread needs and was created for.

With that stated. I'd like to understand why the emojis? And the intent behind them.

                    It's very possible siablo.

                    Take this man named God.

Now he had trouble getting a loan because of his first name. If he had a son, he could name him Jesus, you know.

Entirely possible.. Open your mind man.

*Not here to question anyone's beliefs, just having fun with it*
