That study of that 75 year old Harvard Study on happiness - the take away was just a good life is built on good relationships and that's basically that.

And I feel like we all knew that anyway. Billionaire or pauper.

At this time I'm a little embarrassed about how healthcare workers are received because I know there are those that are entirely defined by their jobs and they're brilliant.

I am not that way. I try my best but I would not like that to be 'my thing'.

I live for my time off and trying to be present in the moment. Having good relationships.

I've been to funerals and the obituaries are usually so grandiose. Like if a dude recycles all his plastics he suddenly becomes an original conversationalist hero. If he drives an electric car he was on a one man crusade to reduce his worlds' carbon footprint. If he was doctor or she was a nurse they are basically sainted right there on the altar.

It's such rubbish and they would be embarrassed.

If at least a few people really miss when you've gone then that is a life well lived. That's it.

The few times I've had to write the obituaries I've really just focussed on funny stories and why I think we will miss them.

I can't imagine anything more s.hit than someone standing up in front of people in front of a coffin and saying: well this guy built this company.

I've got a mate who is an MD of his own company. If I have to talk about the things we done when we were in our early 20's at his funeral I'd be so depressed.

That said, he's rich so I will definitely die first.
Not a big fan of funerals, either. I've halfway thought about stealing a line out of a comedian's schtick and making sure the funeral procession goes through the line at Micky D's so everybody gets a "Happy Meal"; and, at other times, I've thought about doing a video ahead of time, so I could speak over my own funeral; but...people are sensitive and want to mourn. My other thought was just to get a few friends of mine, who I know would do it, to burn my body upon an alter in my back yard...or some place less con****uous, like some Native Americans did. Morticians have a freakin' racket going on, IMO. Why should they be the only ones who get to decide how to dispose of a body when things die and decompose every day without guidance? LOL!! Eh...I've still got a little time (hopefully) to make up my mind on that one. Doesn't really matter in the end, unless I can find a way to stick around and watch. lol

I think as long as you can say you were as good of a friend and family member as you could be, loved and were loved, at the end of the day, that's all that really matters. Leave the world a better place than you found it. That's about all anyone can do, IMO.

Lol. I feel humourous funerals are the way to go.

I don't think I'll be allowed to be buried but if I am I want my skeleton to l be spring loaded so after maybe a countdown of like 100 years my coffin lifts itself to the surface and then the lid opens and the spring loaded mechanism just rifles my skeleton into the sky. Maybe a few fireworks.

I feel like if people are obsessed with leaving a legacy for strangers that would beat everything.

There could be bands, beer, a real carnival vibe.

Someone somewhere there will be getting a blowie due to the euphoric atmosphere created by my skeleton launching.

Also feel like if nobody was there to see my skeleton launch that would actually be funnier.

Just a man on his way to work and me landing on his windshield at a set of traffic lights.
