I currently live in New England but I honestly want to move but I haven’t found a clear destination yet.

I own a home but I could rent it out.

My wife and I were thinking about Delaware or ******ia.

I really want to move to a warmer state.

Any ideas? Please no overly expensive states like California let’s be reasonable. Lol.
This is an individual choice. I will tell you my feelings about it... Many people like discounts in living and I get that. I actually have land in Nevada because you can build a nice place and not have your pocket picked left and right... A lot of very rich people used Lake Tahoe this way. But there is also the quality of life. Are there areas that are more expensive for a reason?

Having lived in many great cities including New York, San Francisco, Toronto, New Orleans, etc here is what I have found: You get traffic most places... Baltimore, where we live right now is congested daily and for what? this place is a s h it hole. Maryland is overpriced, It is shady, people antagonise each other here, drive horribly. New Orleans is another poor city but it has a lot more charm. But as far as living there, it is dangerous and the weather can be brutal.

San Francisco is expensive, and it has many charms, but is not worth the money. It is more like an overrun big small town than an international city. LA has a lot more to offer frankly. The people in san francisco are awful, the politics are horrendous...

Toronto is socially progressive but expensive and the weather is horrible...If living in Canada I would choose Vancouver. Nice city, but very expensive! and the weather...

Many people are moving to places like Boise Idaho, with great weather, not too overgrown, not too expensive. Not a bad way to go if you like a mid size city with great curb appeal. For that matter Reno is another rising star. Reno has great roads, is in a natural paradise, and has a decent economy.

But for my money, all things considered? New York is my favorite city and we will be moving back shortly. YES New York is expensive, but because it is expensive, people seem to behave, its like paying a w h ore. You do not pay her to perform, you pay her to discreetly leave...and a lot of the ignorant types of individuals that a city like Baltimore attracts, can't swing it here.

New York has work for everyone, people are smart, they conduct themselves properly in public, as compared to San francisco where every hipster has a chip on their shoulder, will deliberately passive aggressively get in your way, etc. New York has great parks, the city is run well... Dogs off leash allowed after 9pm...cars towed for a parade can be recovered at no expense to the owner, etc.

The food is great in New YorK, the subway goes everywhere, and that is why your rent is higher. Its worth it! I am working on a summer place in Nevada, so I can watch our property in San francisco, and an apartment in NYC near Central Park... give me these things and I am a happy camper. To me there is no better place to live.

******ia is s h it. They will throw you in jail for a speeding ticket. It is crazy, and it is overpriced. Want to pay a premium because of higher echelon government workers commuting to washington? Frankly WEst ******ia is much prettier, much poorer, but a much better value.

I would consider Arizona, hard pass on the New Mexico.
