Longines is a nice Swiss brand. You’ll have to shop around to find a good deal. On the affordable but nice looking end you have Bulova. You may also be able to get a breitling on eBay, if you get lucky.

start looking at $2500+... $1500 is that grey area of the market, where a lot of shltty watches are overpriced... at $2500 companies are forced to release good/competitive products

$1500 is not much more than upper-end entry-level
