Superman is Clark kent. Other kryptonians arent "Superman"

So yea of theres a movie of another kryptonian who is black that's fine, but if its "Superman" that is Clark Kent who is white.

Anyone that comes from Krypton is called “super”.

And the several Supermans.

No one has any issue with the Batman from Batman Beyond because he is white, even though he is a different Batman.

Not many people take issue with the fact that there are multiple Green Lanterns, except for one when there’s a black one.

No one cares about their being multiple Kryptonians with the “super” prefix, until there’s a black one.

I’m against white characters being turned black, and non white characters being turned white and straight characters being turned bi/gay/lesbian. Or characters being changed dramatically for no reason. Like a black Clark Kent, that would piss everyone off. Or a Ariel from The Little Mermaid being turned into a black Ariel. All of that is ****** and just looking to make a scene by way of being unoriginal. A black mermaid from the same universe of the little mermaid (Ariel), is fine though. Just completely changing a character just to show equality is irritating. Make one up with a different name.

But a black Superman based on a black skinned alien from Krypton, who will not be Clark Kent, is absolutely a non-issue imo.

Only if the storline starts off as hes some orphan cause both parents died of a crack overdose so he grew up in the foster system and been a big trouble maker, and he learned about his super power when he broke into some house to rob them and when he ran away he got shot and thats where he changes his life for the better! heheheheh now thats a story.

I guess they have been casting boring, non charismatic guys as Superman since quite some time so Jordan fits right in.

It's a shame people like Idris Elba or similar charismatic guys don't get a chance.

But he was created to have a distinctive look. He was first created as a white bald guy. Then he was changed to have black hair, blue eyes, and Caucasian skin.

That's what the creators had him look like, and that's what his look should always be.

MBJ should never play Clark Kent. If he's starring in a movie as Calvin Ellis, or John Henry Irons, sure ok. But it would be wrong on so many levels for him to be Clark Kent.

Fair enough. Personally I think anyone should be able to play the character unless race is a significant part of the character's story. But I could understand how you see it as well.
