Fellow residents of Baltimore any comments on the latest news?

I live in Baltimore...most of the year. Things happen here that would almost be comical if they did not cause such harm. Only in B'more does a police chief get jacked. Rodney Dangerfield used to joke "Oh boy I grew up in a bad area, in my Neighborhood the police got mugged."

In Baltimore? They started a reading campaign and put up signs everywhere (that is what they do) saying "Baltimore the city that reads." We become a laughing stock, someone noticed our teenage pregnancy rate and changed the sign to read "Baltimore the city that breeds."

Our Mayors... Both crooks. They actually had a moment of truth considering voting in the first crook again because the field was that bad! Oh and the mayor between the two crooks decided that in order not to offend anyone the police should stand down as the city's business' were destroyed. Apparently narcotics used for pain could not be procured for a while...as so many of the drug stores were knocked over.

Living here? yes, a lot of 5h1t goes down. Gun shots...We have had about 5 shootings around this area. Yet the city is most concerned about people parking in an area that they claim belongs to them (it doesn't) and with stopping guys who work on cars in the alley back here. These guys are productive, they perform a valuable service, nobody can afford to go to a shop in this area, and they keep an eye out for problems...but this is what concerns the city.

They just ripped up out street the third time...they cannot seem to fix problems that most municipalities fix easily...they put on a road coating twice which never dried.

I don't favor ***** speaking ill out of spite, but i do feel like the people in charge here fell asleep at the switch a long time ago, at least from when Schaefer was at the helm...Thoughts? Fellow Baltimoreans?

PS: We just got voted worse sounding accent in the country.

    - -Anybody ask Babe as in Ruth what he thinks of Baltimore?

I live in one of the so called progressive and sanctuary destination points in the world.

Progressively higher taxes, progressively less affordability, progressively less drivability, progressively more injustice, progressively worst environmentally destruction I have ever witnessed of our previous pristine paradise, progressively more pretentious credentialed asshats imposing evermore of the above.

It runs downhill, I'll give them that.

I remember seeing this years ago, and I couldn't stop laughing for a minute straight.

As someone who visits from time to time, there's only 1 bigger shythole in this country, and it's Camdem, NJ.

Philly use to be just like Baltimore, but it's slowly getting better, Bmore on the other hand, has gotten worse.

North Philly(not so much),West Philly, West Bmore, Wilmington and Camden are identical sections and cities, if you were an outta towner, you couldn't distinguish the difference between each, maybe by driving thru Camden you'll be able to tell that the roads are third world like, but that's it.

            My feelings exactly QueenB.

Credentialed = by the governments authority, usually through avuncular patronage systems...And yet these people can convince themselves they deserve these positions, without even making an effort to make it better for those who need it.

Gone are the days when the person who had the most talent and ability was put in that position, now it is "do you have a license?"

Well... Every major East Coast city has ****...But Baltimore? we have neighborhoods with higher AIDS rates than the worse sub Saharan countries...I was told this by my dear friend and doctor, who does research in Africa and in Johns Hopkins. The Heroine epidemic is also killing people and the homicide rate is getting to be like in the seventies.

It gets pretty bad when my 17 year old can tell me the difference between a gun shot and fireworks on the fourth of July...And when gang conflict resolution specialists are shot. The cops come around and I can tell because of the doors all slamming.

Guys you cannot make this 5h1t up...The last director they hired to run public education, who was, incidently no different from the other directors fired... His parting shot was that he had made a vital contribution to the educational welfare of children, or as they say here, "chiren" everywhere by enacting his program.

You may well ask what this program was, this progressive vanguard that would usher these chiren out of poverty, and make education grand once again!!!! Was it a mentorship service? new places where kids could go to be supervised? new educational resources picked delicately from Federal initiatives? HELL NO! The man declared that school lunch should be free to all...Not a bad idea By the way, but this hardly qualifies as the end of poverty as we know it. The board here fires these guys, and they leave with half the school budget as part of their golden parachute. Then they hire the same exact candidate from another district that fired their clone.
