I could say perhaps our bravest and our best died in two senseless World Wars, but an enormous number of brave young Russian men also died in those wars.

This idea that other Europeans 'didn't consider Russians white' seems to be a modern American misconception that doesn't really exist in Russia from what I've seen.

I've been to the USA and it's defo a race and identify obsessed place.
