    Dear FinitoxDinamita

One grossly offensive. Two sumo train extraordinarily hard and have an incredible amount of raw strength combined with their sustain... Obviously they wouldn't fight aggressive in the end sumo wins. Third and final point you should be ashamed for the disrespect on the ***** community and I hope you're whipped in hell bye bye

I still put my money on the Karate guy if the fight goes longer than like a minute or so, and definitely if the sumo guy goes down to a knee (unless tons of fun lands on top of the other guy, lol)

Did you ever see the Pride I think fight with the regular size guy against like a 600 pounder? It's on YouTube as world's biggest mismatch or something. It's so funny

He KOed a Hawaiin sumo guy named Teila Tuli, who later played a recurring role on the Hawaii 5-0 reboot and did some other acting. UFC 3 had kenpo karate fighter Keith Hackney TKO sumo wrestler Emannuel Yarborough when he landed a palm strike to the chin and followed up with punches on the ground. Those early UFC fights were crazy, but that's how the Gracies wanted it, as little rules as possible, so it could be as close to a street fight as they could get it and so none of the fighters would have any complaints or could make any excuses.
      That's the thread right there.

Another tooth was imbedded in Gordeau's foot. For whatever reason, they didn't/couldn't remove it before he fought on. You'll notice the foot wrap he had in his later fights. That was holding the tooth in place until after the event.

Have you read No Holds Barred, by Clyde Gentry?

It's an excellent book about the early days of NHB/MMA. He spoke to a lot of the people involved back then, and not just the fighters.

          Sumo te

Sumo is the only indigineous art to Japan. It is the patron sport of the Shinto Gods. It was never designed for combat. There are techniques that could be applied to combat, but thats not the purpose of the practice.

It would be like asking how a Modern Dancer would do in the Octogon.

As an aside, the shiko squats practiced by sumo wrestlers are a good exercise.

They develop balance, elasticity, and strength all at the same time.

A martial artist would run and strike the joints like the knees until the Sumo could no longer get up. But if the Sumo wrestler caught a hold of him it could be over. Remember arts like Karate were designed so a little man could beat a bigger man.

if that gay looking soccer player in your signature had an altercation with a sumo yeah i think the sumo would win

sumo vs random average male is harder to call though

It didn't win in UFC 4 against Keith "The Giant Killer" Hackney so no, it can't. At least not most of the time. Unless the sumo guy falls on top of the other guy and can get a sub by smothering, land some ground and pound or land a lucky punch.

That's the one that came to my mind, epic scrap!! But the fact is Hackney got taken down and got back to his feet to put a hurt on the big guy.
