I like the Australian model of letting illegal aliens know they will simply be returned should they try to come. If the deterrent works it's even better as they won't risk their life trying to come.

You can't blame people for trying to make a better future for their family by any means necessary. Not like you motherfkers are dying to cut grass. When the farmers can't find people to work their fields for the money they offer prices will go up and your fking food is going to go up, and watch us all be calling Jose in mexico trying to get him to comeback when our fking orange juice jug is 15 bucks.
It's naive not to recognize we probably benefit as a society from illegal immigrants, as long as we keep em illegal of course. If they get papers then **** is different, but for the longest time the contract with illegal immigrants reads like this " You will do all the **** jobs we don't want to do, we will exploit you, and maybe we wont deport your kids and the ones you make here will get to have a future 10 times better than yours" Harsh but that's what the contract has been for a very long time.
