Thank you for making planet earth lose some of its greatest treasures, the ruins of the beginning of civilization in Mesopotamia.

Yes Americans it was Isis not the trained rebels. But Isis was created mostly by FSA rebels who joined the Islamic jihad side instead of being a purely political rebel army. The Americans know this and yet they are still training and funding these untrustworthy ****.

I hope Russia sparks them all except for the Christian Assyrian forces who are purely there to defend their villages.

CNN—ISIS militants have destroyed the iconic Arch of Triumph in Palmyra, the latest cultural treasure of the ancient site that they have reduced to rubble, Syrian authorities said.

The 1,800-year-old monumental arch, which framed the approach to the Roman city, was blown up Sunday, Syria's Directorate General for Antiquities and Museums said, citing eye witnesses in the local community.

ISIS jihadists seized control of Palmyra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the surrounding area from Syrian government forces in May. Since then, the Islamic extremists have beheaded the antiquities expert who looked after the ruins and set about demolishing their architectural riches.

In August, they leveled two temples of immense cultural significance -- the Temple of Bel and the Temple of Baalshamin -- prompting outrage and condemnation from around the world.

The Arch of Triumph, consisting of one large arch flanked by two smaller ones, opened onto Palmyra's elegant Colonnade. The top of the arch was decorated with "beautiful geometrical and plant ornaments," the Syrian antiquities directorate said.

    UNESCO calls destruction 'war crime'

UNESCO, the United Nations cultural organization, describes the archway's adornments as "an outstanding example of Palmyrene art."

The organization's director general has called ISIS' destruction of Palmyra's architectural gems "a war crime."

As well as the temples, the ********* group has also demolished Roman-era funerary towers that were "among the most representative and evocative monuments" at the site, UNESCO said last month.

The militants, however, are unapologetic over their step-by-step trashing of one of the world's most important ancient sites, publishing photos of some of the destruction.

The Syrian antiquities directorate said it was increasingly worried about Palmyra's fate under the extremists, noting that the ancient city "stands for of tolerance and multicultural richness, the things ISIS hates."

The militants have also smashed up other antiquities in the parts of Syria and Iraq that they control
I read this saddening story this morning.

America and the Western media disgust me with the way they are all criticizing ***** who is doing the world a favor by exterminating Isis ****. Yes, they are also targetting FSA members, that's what happens when you're fighting against the Lion of Damascus.

FSA was created, armed and funded by the US. Of course a large percentage of them turned into ISIS which they didn't see coming I GUESS. And all this time they've been training and recruting the FSA, many times they all of a sudden turn into Islamic militants and disappear Good luck yanks. ***** will not stand for this.
                  At least someone gets it.........

Russia is knocking out all ********* groups whether they are moderate or not. We are arming rebel groups who are not our friends. All we know is they want to take out Assad. Taking out Assad will destabilize the middle east even more

Regardless of what peoples views on Russia has been over the past few years, I think they are really winning over "the hearts & minds" of many westerners by taking on ISIS.

On Wednesday, 4 Russian naval vessels fired 26 cruise missiles into Syria from their positions in the Caspian Sea, marking the first time that the Russian Navy has militarily participated in this four year long Syrian Conflict.

According to the Russian Defense Minister, the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham was the primary target of these cruise missiles – he added that the Russian Navy targeted 11 sites and avoided any civilian populated areas in eastern and northern Syria.

Sources close to Al-Masdar News revealed a number of sites that the Russian cruise missiles struck inside Syria; among them was ISIS’ primary military base in northern Syria: the Tabaqa Military Airport.

The Tabaqa Military Airport is located inside the Al-Raqqa Governorate’s southwestern countryside; it was captured by the ********* group during a full-scale offensive against the Syrian Arab Army in August of 2014.

Since its capture, ISIS has used its vast grounds to train and equip their fighters before they are sent to one of the ********* group’s many fronts inside Syria and Iraq.

Recently, the Russian Air Force has targeted the Tabaqa Military Airport with numerous airstrikes; this includes the area surrounding the airbase in the Hama Governorate’s eastern countryside (Al-Salamiyah District).

A military source has also confirmed that the Russian cruise missiles struck ISIS inside the provincial capital of the Al-Raqqa Governorate; this is the capital of their self-proclaimed “Caliphate.”
The US and their allies never once targeted this airport that was in the hands of ISIS, even though it was a very easy target and could have easily caused so much damage to ISIS' supply networks.

Russia hit it in the first few days of their campaign.

Russia continues to embarrass ***** and the US.

But still not as much as the US embarrasses itself.
